Is Mitch considered a veteran? I thought he was still on his rookie contract.

This will be his 5th year as he came up in the middle of the 2010 season. Yes he's definitely a veteran and I believe he's 27-28ish if I'm not mistaken.

I really do hope I am wrong and Wash is right...I hope MM stays healthy, hits 30+ HRs, and bats .280, but I'm taking Missouri's stance on this one.

Reading the predictions on ESPN, and some numbnuts believe there is a 'Nolan Ryan curse' and we are doomed to 40 years of failure. Conversely, I've never felt better about our chances.

Kind of interesting that lefty Prince Fielder has had the best success of anyone in the lineup hitting Lee in the past. Andrus and Rios have also had some success.

Can't be any worse than the billy-goat curse placed on the Cubs.

That makes no sense at all. What is the point of having your hottest bat who is RH sitting on the bench against a LH pitcher. It is just common sense. Even if MM or Martin go crazy I still cannot agree with it. Same goes with Murphy not playing. It's not like Andrus has been out there a lot playing with Wilson.

:agree: doesn't make sense at all.

You gotta admit that it's not a wise decision choosing Mitch or Choice. Unless Mitch was a star and earned his place as the every day player Choice should be starting.

The stupid fuck does it to himself.

Man I was livid when I saw that starting lineup. Must be playing it like a WS game. :noidea: I was trying to hold back but once again a strategist he is not. Just hope we can overcome our manager for, oh, I lost count how many times.

My thing is it should be Choice and then either Martin or Mitch. I am not against just Mitch. But not two mediocre hitting lefties.

Wash basically said weeks ago he was going to roll with with essentially this lineup for game #1. On opening day platoon splits be damned.

I think Choice will get plenty of at bats this year.

At least I see as Martin providing studly defense and speed. So to me I would have gone with Choice and Martin. But as I stated in the previous post I think Wash may have went with Mitch because he's sort of the ML "veteran". I don't agree with it but just trying to understand what Wash is thinking.
