THIS.

People can hate on Sherman all they want......but his mouth and attitude are what got him here to begin with. He MADE himself the best CB in the league and he clearly doesn't have the speed or hands of the more talented players at his position. Kinda like Emmitt Smith, he WILLED himself into being a better player.

That guy can talk as much as he wants. He has the stats and a ring. Long live the king.

And if im readin this stuff right, halll and def blount started these little tiffs. Now sure some will say sherm should ignore em be the bigger man. And you may be right, but when you have accomplished all sherm has, all pro, regarded as best cb in league, superbowl champ you have the riht to shut up nobodies like hall and never was's like blount.

But sherm needs this, he will use this to drive him

Whenever these stories surface everyone is always so quick to assume that it was Sherman who initiated and it was Sherman who is acting immature

The back and forth with Blount...if you actually read the tweets there was nothing immature from either side. Blount stated that he thought Talib was the best and Sherman respectfully disagreed. Blount gave his explanation and reasoning and Sherman laid out his.

The back and forth with Deangelo was more on the immature side but most of it was from Deangelo himself

Read the tweets...if anything Sherman is being unselfish in his defense of everyone's criticism. Deangelo and others keep bringing up "hey sherm why don't you follow receivers like revis does"

Sherman plays within the team's scheme. For the Seahawks defense to work there is a sense of trust with every player to follow the scheme. Sherman isn't worried about running around following receivers, he does what the team calls for him to do. When he needs to he calls his names and follows a receiver like Boldin (week 2) and completely shuts them down. But in other cases, the team needs him to play within the scheme and he does that and excels

Richard Sherman acts like a 13 year old girl...I bet he has Justin Beiber posters above his bed

That Manning poster above your bed doesn't quite have the same shine as it did a couple months ago, does it? You know, when Sherm and his boys laughed him off the field in the biggest game of his life?

He can run his mouth all he wants because he backs it up with this play. In his 3 years in the NFL:

20 INTs
61 passes defended
34 = QB rating when throwing to his area

And to the ignorant crybabies who try to claim that its because all he does is hold on every play to get those stats....

19 other CBs were penalized for more holding calls in 2013.

Sherman is the best shutdown corner in the game. End of story.

And as for his character? His charity assists inter city schools to get the latest edition books and teaching materials so they aren't at a disadvantage.

I bet all of those chiming in with negative comments about Sherman didn't actually read what happened. Blount started crap, Sherman tried to take the high road with it, and others joined in trying to stir up the pot maybe because they were bored. Sherman later deleted his tweets so he did obviously say things he thought later he shouldn't have, but I didn't see anything noteworthy here at all. This was just a thug being a thug and Sherman not using enough self control to stay out of it. Must be a slow news day if this is all the typical haters have to bitch about today.

I guess besides being a loudmouth he moonlights as a defensive back occasionally.

Some of you Seahawk posters are missing the point...

It doesn't matter if Sherman started the arguments or not...he responded to them.

Blount didn't call Sherman out, Sherman went out of his way to disagree. (Showing it rubbed Sherman the wrong way)

Hall called Sherman out, and he got Sherman to bite the bait.

I just don't see why Sherman cares so much...

I dont know why he cares so much either, but I'm glad he does. He wants everyone to agree that he's "the best" and puts in the work to get it done. Good for him, kids these days lack ambition.

No, we aren't missing any point, we just don't think it's a big deal. Explain to us why a twitter exchange is so damned important to you.

And yes, Blount did call out Sherman. He put Shermans twitter handle in the first tweet. What would you call that? And how did Sherman respond? By saying its all good, can't question friendship. You know, he tried to take the high road. Blount clearly was trying to egg him on and he probably should have left it alone, but why is it such a big deal that he didn't? This isn't a big story. You won't see anything about it again within a week or so.

But you all just keep trying to make something out of nothing. It's what people on forums do.

It's not important to me, I already stated I don't care... You can never convince everyone that you're the best at something, there is always going to be someone who disagrees or thinks otherwise (especially in a profession like the NFL). So I just don't see why Sherman feels the need to try and force it upon people that he is the best or feels obligated to respond to people claiming he is the best. It's pointless...so I simply asked why does he care so much?

Because he is the best, and blasphemy shall not be tolerated.

He isn't the first person in the league to play with a chip on their shoulders who also looks for every excuse to have that chip. So again the question is why does it matter? He says things I wouldn't say and I wish he wouldn't say them, but not so much I'd say I'm really bothered by it. He is an athlete and many of them do dumb things. His dumb things aren't that big of a deal.

I think it matters in the fact that honestly his self promotion is actually hurting his legacy more than helping in my opinion. People hate arrogance and well Sherman gives them every chance to hate him with his antics. Yes I realize these other two guys mouthed off first but it doesn't mean he has to respond. Do that on the field. I don't really see any of the other stars in the league other than maybe Revis a little here and there acting like Sherman. Heck Manning was MVP this past season and spent most of the time talking about all the players around him and coaches. Calvin Johnson is about as quiet as they come. Adrian Peterson talks but rarely about how he is one of the greatest RB's of all time. He feels honored usually to be mentioned with those guys.

Yes in the end him mouthing off isn't that big of a deal but when these guys are examples to kids around the world his arrogance and childish behavior only influences them towards stupidity.

Heck he has had many past HOF players call him out and telling him to shut up. He just seems to act like he has no respect for the game, other players, the history, or those he influences on a daily basis.

Sherman's behavior seems arrogant and at times quite odd when it comes to this type of conflict but what Seattle fans have learned about his personality is that he thrives on this conflict and uses even a hint of disrespect as a driving force to push him to compete even harder.

The day that Sherman actually believes that he is the best at what he does and feels that everyone gives him nothing but respect is the day that he loses his edge. He needs this conflict. He thrives on it. He eats it up.
This should be a disclaimer for every Sherman thread from here on out. Nothing more to post.

His legacy will be determined on the field. Sherman talks... a lot. And only a small fraction of it is trash talk but nobody seems to care when he's saying all the "respectful" things day in, day out. He constantly talks about his teammates, just like Manning. The only difference is, where Manning bites his lip when people say he's not the best, Sherman calls them out on it. Being a great teammate and a trash talker that believes he's the best are not mutually exclusive characteristics.

Who are these MANY HOF players? And how did he go on to disrespect them after they told him to "shut up"?
