Really wanted him on the Rams but a bidding war for a Safety is pretty dumb. A bidding war with the Redskins is also really dumb

I may be the only Eagle fan who doesn't want Byrd.. I'm scared about another sexy FA bust. I don't think Byrd is in our plans. Feel the same about Revis. Time will tell. Byrd is going to demand a ton of money.:noidea:

Replaces D'qwell! Actually it is a big upgrade.

Upgrade or not, Dansby will be 33 this season & his production was partially the result of the defensive scheme AZ ran. Paying $10 mil up front & $14 guaranteed is an overpay for what will likely one more year of good production.

I think Whitner is a downgrade from Ward, but Dansby is an upgrade from Jackson.

He could have a couple years left. I don't think 3 or 4, but a couple.

Yeah, 1-3 years good production and major money involved. Browns needed something, though. Their defense wildly underachieved last year, imo

Hopefully the browns don't have him cover anyone. He can't cover TE(s) or RB(s) & has hands of stone. If they just ask him to drop back in zone coverage & occasionally blitz up the middle, he can still be productive. But the kind of money they are paying him, I imagine they expect more than that from him.

WalterFootball 2014 NFL Free Agent Signing Grades

Browns sign ILB Karlos Dansby (4 years, $24M; $14M guaranteed): C- Grade

Sigh... same old Browns. Only inept teams like Cleveland would pay this much money to a soon-to-be 33-year-old linebacker who is almost certain to decline sometime soon. Granted, Dansby played out of his mind this past season, but he was on a 1-year deal, so he was extremely motivated to land another big contract. Cleveland naturally fell for this charade.

Once again, free agents who take big money to go to inferior franchises almost always disappoint. Dansby has shown that his No. 1 priority is money, so how motivated will he be while playing for a perennial loser? This is a disastrous move by Cleveland's new front office.

No doubt. They have still built a damn good defense around him, so most likely be the same guy as Jackson...make tackles and lots of them

Hopefully this ends up being the case.

I am not really sure what the Raiders are doing. To me Saffold would be a downgrade from Veldheer.

NFL Insiders on ESPN right now saying Ben Tate is a perfect fit for the Browns and think he ends up there. Something I've been saying all off-season.

So if the Brons trade for Revis they gove up a dreft pick and take on a $16 million contract. I'll pass. Bc they have to sign Haden next year also.

Most likely it would be for just 1 year, but $16 mil??

Depends. Veldheer is a much better tackle. Saffold is an injury prone but pro bowl calibur Guard, imo.

Saffold as an LT? :lol::laugh3:

Caldwell = Decker, imo

The browns would still have close $19 mil in cap space after acquiring Revis & signing Dansby. If it were to happen. Probably only cost them a 4th round pick.

Cardinals look like a Super Bowl contender if they ever find a good QB
