At one point in the 2000s it seemed like his career was over. He went from being a pretty good actor in the 90s to the pretty boy that continuously took on terrible movies and cashed in without putting in any real effort.
Then out of nowhere he came out with Lincoln Lawyer (underrated movie, underrated performance). Then Killer Joe, then Mud (another great, borderline Oscar worthy performance), and now he has an Oscar for best actor (Dallas Buyer's Club), one of the top TV shows airing (True Detective), and an upcoming film with Christopher Nolan (Interstellar) set to release later on this year
