Butler resigned with teh Chargers

Umm.. Why?? Butler did not out perform Riley last year. Or over the course of their careers in fact. So why exactly should Butler make more?? Im just curious as to the logic.

Actually Butler is 5 months younger than Riley. Both will be 26 by the end of the year.

IM actually intrested to se what he signed for. Because if its any where close to $6 million a year, then there is little room if any to say Riley is not worth a deal considering that BUtler is only five months younger but has managed to miss 24 out of 64 games he was on roster for due to injury. On the flip side Riley has played in every game he was available for since being brought up from the practice squad in 2010, and started all 16 games the past three years.

Correction. Riley was a 4th round pick, but he didnt make the game day roster til mid way through his rookie season. Point being that from the time he was put on the game day roster, he has played every game for us.

53 man roster and game day roster are slightly different. Riley spent the fist eight weeks of 2010 on the inactive list. So just like a practice squad guy, he practiced during the wek, but didnt play on game day. Check the stats. In 2010 he wasnt active until week eight. Since then he has played in every game for the Skins though.

Not the same thing as a PS player. A PS player can be signed by any NFL team at any time in the year. Riley made the squad but was just declared inactive. That doesn't make him a PS player.

I made a mistake and corrected it. But from a game day active stand point it is pretty much the same. He was available to the team, but didnt play on game days. Should have said he has played in every game since he was elevated from the weekly inactive squad. My point being that Riley has not missed a game for us from the day he was activated. Butler has missed 24 out of 64 games where he was eligable to be on the active roster mostly due to injury. And in fact didnt take a single snap his rookie year.
