Some said the same thing about Don James when one of his QB's got a car and was overpaid for the job he had. You expect a HC to know what every kid on their team is doing at all times? With teams having up to 100+ kids in their programs and only a handful of coaches and staff how on earth are you supposed to achieve that? It's naive to believe any HC knows what each kid does at all times and has the staff in place to prevent any of them from making a poor decision for their own selfish gain.

The NCAA feels the only way to keep this stuff at a minimum is to punish the programs that have these events and it is what it is, but to suggest Carroll was dirty and knew, or was guilty because he should have known is kind of stupid. The same goes for any other team that got hit without one shred of evidence that the coaching staff had any knowledge.

Pete Carroll knew, let's get that out of the way. He was an idiot for allowing agents in the USC locker room and sidelines during USC games, especially New Era agents. Todd McNair has admitted to knowing Bush's involvement with New Era. Hell, Bush has even gone on record saying he thought Carroll knew about the house his parents were living in rent free. Reggie Bush is one fucking son of a bitch bringing these sanctions on USC. I hope the Trojans never let that fucker on the sidelines at their games.
