I think Miami should sign TO as an offensive lineman - he would not have to catch the ball.....

Like I said, he should have put on 30 lbs of bulk and retooled himself as a receiving TE, ala Gronkowski.

I'd be very curious to know how much T.O. is getting as a pension. He's not suffering...

There is no way that Moss or Owens are as good as Rice, let alone better. Moss was a sometimer and Owens was the same when securing the reception. You never knew if he'd drop it or catch it. At the end of his career he developed alligator arms.

Hard to be consistent when you have bums throwing to you your whole career.

Moss was better than Rice at everything but route running. Overall Rice couldn't touch moss. The numbers he would have put up with talent like rice had throwing him the ball would have dwarved Jerry's any given season.

Exactly. Look at the season he had with Brady throwing to him in '07. And the seasons he had with Dante Cullpepper throwing to him. Imagine if he'd had Brady or Manning in those seasons?!

You guys are confusing potentiality with reality. Moss is the most gifted receiver I have ever seen. If he had better QB's and a better work ethic, he would've been the greatest of all time.

Bo Jackson may have been the greatest running back of all time, had he played pro football full time and not suffered that hip injury that ended his football career.

Two comments. No he doesnt have it. Two, while he wasnt in trouble with the law he was an awful teammate and locker room destroyer. He brought it upon himself, he clearly needs help as evidenced by his attempted suicide a while ago and hopefully he finds it.

Two words. Barry sanders.

Bo may have been the greatest athlete but he like everyone else doesnt hold a candle to barry.

Actually Hammer, it's a known fact that most of his yards are off yacs which doesn't require much help from the QB. Don't act like Brady didn't help Moss out or McNabb didn't help T.O. It goes both ways. To be honest, if you truly believe what you're saying then I'm not sure how anyone can take you serious on this board and from what it would seem if that were the case, I would really question your football knowledge at it's core.

That's right. Moss and T.O. shined against exponentially better defenders. Jerry Rice in his prime might make the '15 Jaguars as a slot receiver.

You can't be serious??? You have to be trolling. It almost angers me reading that. Talk about a lack of respect for someone you didn't watch play or even the game in general for that decade. Holy fuckin Christ. wow

By all accounts, Randy Moss was a prototypical teammate and competitor. Hell, if he kept his mouth shut over the way the Titans (ab)used him, I'm sold!

It's tough for me to understand why someone desperate for publicity and ticket sales (like the Jaguars) hasn't brought T.O. in for one last shot. The fact that he has sat out the last three seasons probably means he's in better shape than the last season he played. I think he should have bulked up and gone in as a receiving TE.

Randy Moss quit on the Raiders and took plays off.

You can say that about alot of great players, if only they had this or only they had that. You judge them on what they did accomplish

What? No "you're the stupidest stupid-head of all time?" I'm disappointed that you couldn't achieve your usual level of juvenile.

There is a reason why a player with that much talent jumps from the 49er, Eagles, Dallas, etc never lasting more than a couple of seasons.

That's bullshit. A good QB puts you in much, much better position for yards after catch than a bad one. They are every bit as responsible as the receivers in that aspect of his numbers.

You can say that about alot of great players, if only they had this or only they had that. You judge them on what they did accomplish

Situations matter. If one guy had the most touchdowns all time with two hall of farmers for the length of his career, and another has the second most with bums for all but two years, you take situation into account when comparing them. Ignoring it is stupidity.

My usual? First of all I rarely post on the NFL forums. Secondly, you're the one who said Rice would not only be average but would be good enough to make the jags. Do you not see how stupid that sounds? I would understand if you were trolling niner fans or just being funny but the fact that you meant what you said is just plain sad.

What I mean is that the Qb can only do so much. once the WR catches it, the play beyond on that is in the hands of the WR. This was what both Rice and TO did perfectly. He said it was because of his QB, well the QB didnt burn the Linebackers and out play the DB's after 5-10 yards.

Jerry Rice had both Terrell Owens and J.J. Stokes puking their little bitch boy guts out in practices trying to keep up with him. People forget the greatest football player of all time, Jerry Rice, helped make T.O.

Jerry taught him, worked him and trained him for greatness. T.O. learned from the great one. Without Jerry Rice, T.O. never reaches those numbers.

Not too mention your ignorant comment on defenses being exponentially better now. Jerry Rice played and beat MANY Hall of Fame DB's. Don't think it's necessary for me make a long list of great CB, FS,and SS's of the 90's but from the sounds of it you may not know of any of them anyway. Not only that, back when the pro bowl was important, Jerry rice on many occasions put up a clinic on the BEST the AFC had to offer year in and year out.

For the record, I'm not saying T.O and Moss aren't as good as Rice. I'm just responding to the mentally challenged esk comments about Jerry and the 90's Defenses.
