I'm not totally against slowing things down, but here is my only thing......

Instead of penalizing a team for going too fast, why not just have the referee take longer putting the damn ball down?

Penalizing a team for going to fast sounds absolutely ridiculous. It's like fining a team for scoring too many points

That's the most passive-aggressive proposal yet! :)

your browser is why there is a different number of pages and posts. Google chrome might show more than internet explorer, etc.

Per Nick Saban you are only allowed 54 pages and 777 posts.

I would respond, but it has only been 9 minutes and I do not want to anger Nick.

I show the same number of posts and pages on five different browsers and two devices.

It's his personalized settings or cookies. Try going back to the default view and clearing cookies? Changing the number of posts per page can cause weird issues: http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/...ggestions/113526-you-cant-get-there-here.html

Maybe we should figure out a way to let the defense decide when the ball is snapped.

Would that solve Nicky's problems?

Or has that already been suggested?

The nose tackle could hold on to the ball? Like playing half court basketball.

Nah,

Just eliminate defense altogether. Every snap is a faceoff. Whoever gets it first runs a play.

So basically Rugby...that might be too dangerous per Saban's standards though.

Steve Spurrier of South Carolina Gamecocks calls slowdown proposal 'Saban Rule' - ESPN

Saw this, this morning and couldn't help but crack a smile....even The Old Ball Coach is calling out Saban.

South Carolina's Steve Spurrier added his name to the list of coaches opposed to a rule proposal that would slow down college offenses, and he wasn't afraid to point fingers while criticizing it.

"So, you want to talk about the 'Saban Rule'?" Spurrier told USA Today on Thursday. "That's what I call it. Looks like it's dead now, hopefully."
