There are plenty of capable guys that can play BU QB in the league. Guys who just can't get over the hump to be an every week starter, and guys whose time has passed, but can still produce in a pinch. Then there is the simple debate of drafting yet another 4-7 rounder who could turn into something special. Aaron Murray and Logan Thomas have both been mentioned. I would love for Washington to draft Thomas (homer glasses on :smokin:). He has all the physical tools and potential to be very very very good. A more athletic Roethlisberger. He just needs the right coach (ing) and development process.

i dont think logan thomas is the answer . he doesnt appear to be able to see the pass rush coming or is nimble enough to get away . i am not sure his mind is quick enough to get the message to his feet and arms

he has physical tools but in 4 years he never put it together i would be lerry of him

murray is hurt . torn ACL which means you could pick him up but he might not be healthy enough to contribute right away

How about a late flier on the kid from Marshall, Cato?

There is absolutely no reason to keep Rex Grossman he is washed up and doesn't know Grudens offense

Not trying to turn this into a Vt thread, but I expect LT to be drafted in the 3-5 range. He could very well wow scouts at the pro day and combine, enough so that someone will take a chance on him well before the 7th or UFA. With that being said, I wouldn't draft a QB any earlier than the 5th unless Cousins is traded, then you make a value pick on a Murray, Thomas, Boyd, etc.

I think if the Skins get offered a high 3rd for Kirk, thats a done deal. For a second Gruden might have to go wash the other coaches car as well. I like Kirk, and I think he could be a starter in the NFL. But it wont happen in DC, and if we are all in on RG3 it only makes sense to get as much as we can for Kirk and bring in a backup. We will either sink or swim with Griffin, so its pointless to let Kirk sit on the bench and rot if we can get a decent draft pick for him.

I agree. His value probably only goes down after this year. He will be in the last year of his contract in 2015 and he will soon be an after thought. If we can get a 2nd do it. If we get a high 3rd, we have to seriously consider it. Anything less and we might as well keep him. There is a value to a good backup.

his value will go down if he continues to put up pedestrian stats when given the chance

right now i see us getting a 3rd for him and that is about it

if we keep him then no big deal

Matt Schaub's numbers in ATL:

2004- He played in two full games going 31 for 63, 330 yards, with 1 TD and 3 INTs.

2005- He played here and there and was 33 for 64, 495 yards, with 4 TDs and surprisingly 0 INTs.

2006- He really played in only one game. He was 15 for 21, 175 yards, and 1 TD/1INT

This is hardly tearing it up.
