Guilty as charged,,do you know how long Hawk fan's like myself have been waiting for this? tooo long.

This is not like 05 with this young team, but i will keep it in perspective and many of my fellow 12th man from the northwest are very cautious it is just the way we are here and i respect that,i do.

The Seahawks were always my second favorite team when the Colts were in Baltimore and then my favorite when the Colts left. Zorn/Krieg, Warner/Warren, Largent...loved them all. They just couldn't break through in the playoffs.

I absolutely despise Carroll though, so no love for them now.

Looking at the Bronco's schedule just does not impress me,Texans those guys had given up,Raiders come on.

I mean look at those points by the Titans,Chargers, etc that is the softest schedule i have seen.

Denver Broncos | 2013 Regular Season Schedule | DenverBroncos.com

The thing is that strength of schedule, like offensive or defensive ranking, or any other stat, mean nothing once the game starts. I have been impressed with both teams all season when I've watched them play, though both have some weaknesses. The Broncos offense v. the Seattle defense figures to be a great matchup in what should be a great game against the two teams that earned the right to play in the biggest game of the season.

Well look at this according to coldhardfacts it is the easiest schedule.

The season will open in Denver with a Thursday night game against defending champion Baltimore, instantly giving us the rematch to last postseason’s most epic game.
In Week 2 the national CBS game will be “Manning Bowl III” as Peyton Manning leads Denver against his brother Eli’s Giants.
Manning will make his return to Indianapolis to take on the Andrew Luck-led Colts for possibly the only time ever in Week 7.
The Manning/Brady rivalry returns to its usual November slot when the Broncos head to New England with Wes Welker on their side in Week 12.
That is a high-profile schedule. But some will point to it also being the easiest schedule in the league, as that is what the 2013 strength of schedule (SOS) suggests (based on records of teams in 2012):

2013 NFL Schedule: The Year Of The Denver Broncos

But hey we can debate those and everything else til our fingers bleed.

Agreed entirely and i think it is great the two No 1's are in the SB,it makes this SB special imo.

Can't the same be said about Seattle then? I mean they have only played 1 offense all year that is ranked in the top 10 in either scoring or yards.

Seattle played à tougher schedule where it matters, in the w-l column. Far better SOS, Far better SOV.

That doesnt really reflect much on Denver. They didnt make theyre schedule. Its just a fact.

That SOS was figured out when KC had gone 2-14 the year before and San Diego stunk it up as well. This is why SOS is probably the worst stat in football to try and figure out how a team will do. With how much turnover there is in the NFL especially come playoff time they have deemed that stat idiotic. The Broncos schedule then became that much tougher considering they had 2 other playoff teams in their division alone so that meant 4 more games against playoff caliber teams that the SOS did not account for at the beginning of the season.

Saint's were right behind the Bronco's in passing offense.

The Bronco's have not faced a top shelf D let alone one of the best in history.

The Bronco's running D ranked at 7th is very misleading due to many of the mediocre teams they played that had to pass to keep up,Lynch will have a field day with the Denver D.

Again Denver's D is ranked 19th in passing the Hawks have played far better plus the Cowboy's put 40 points on the Bronco's.

I feel far more confident for the Hawks going into this game than the NFC Championship tbh and there is just not that odd feeling for me compared to the 05 SB going in.

The 2013 Bronco's offense has actual historical record information to support their position regarding their offensive output. Please do us all a favor and post the appropriate links to support your claim.

He was pointing out that the Bronco offense hadn't played any good defenses so I pointed towards the same then could be said about Seattle this year. The Broncos played 2 defenses in the top 10 for yards and 3 in the top 10 for points so if anything the Bronco offense faced more competition than that of Seattle's defense this year. Again this is why look at these kind of stats is just stupid at this point. Can't we both just be happy to say that the best offense is going to face off against the best defense and leave it at that?

All that was written before 7 of the dates on the Broncos schedule would go on to make the playoffs, as opposed to five for the Seahawks. I'll throw out a bone for the Seahawks playing the Cardinals, a playoff caliber team that was left out. So both team's played 7 playoff caliber teams. But guess what? It's all irrelevant. Both teams have played the teams on their schedule, that's all they can do.

I've seen a lot of racking and stacking, comparing stats, rankings, DVOA, etc. None of it matters. Some people say stats are a good predictor of expected performance, and I agree to a limited extent. But execution is so much more important than stats. Everything that has happened up to this point doesn't matter. It certainly won't matter to either team when the game starts. All that will matter is the play and matchup in front of them.

Denver did not play the Niners or Rams or cards twice in a year, you put any one of those teams in your division the bronco's numbers would be far different.

This argument is getting old. The AFC West just sent 3 teams to the playoffs. Do I think they are as good as the NFC West...Not quite but they are pretty darn good in their own right.

You are actually using games against the Giants and Texans as arguments for how good your team was this year? :lame: HOU (#7) gave up 700 more yards than SEA and NYG (#8) gave up 938 more yards than SEA.

Lets check SEA schedule than, looks like the Hawks played 5 teams in the top 10 for yards and 5 in the top 10 in points. In what universe is 2>5?

Suffice it to say that no amount of debate, facts, or cajoling will convince any Seahawk fan that their team shouldn't be automatically handed over the Lombardi as the best team to ever hear the word football.

The fun begins when they take the field to prove it.

Seems like you stopped reading after I said that as later in my post I said stats like this are stupid. A Seattle poster was trying to show how the Broncos have not played anybody all season especially that has a defense and I was pointing to the fact that he was using stats to try and show that and how they are just ridiculous.

Also that was on the defensive side of the ball. I pointed towards then if Seattle fans are going to claim the Broncos have played nobody on defense then Seattle hasn't really played anybody on offense as the only top 10 team they have played this year is New Orleans.

2) We have a guy named Champ Bailey who is finally 100% healthy. Tony Carter is more than servicable. That's fail #2

as i discussed with cdumler, we will see who is right. IMO, the broncos are either going to have to give help on champ's side, which is going to open up other things for the seahawks offense or if they expect him to match-up one on one with baldwin or tate or harvin, it will be ugly for champ. just my opinion though.
