The silence on this board is absolutely killing me!
So even though it's not exactly fantasy related, was wondering if anyone else cared to share their thoughts on the playoffs..if it helps make you feel better we can say it's related to the playoff challenge we have going as to the consecutive games bonuses. ;)

Seahawks over the Saints-
I know the Saints defense has played very well, especially down the stretch, but I don't see them winning this game. Seattle is one of the few teams in the league that can take out virtually all of the Saints recieving weapons one on one, leaving the pass rush free to target Brees. And that defense won't be so stellar after being pounded on by Lynch for 4 quarters.

Patriots over Colts-
Not sure why the Colts are the favorites in this game. Had KC not took a bathroom break that lasted the entire second half, or if they could've avoided half the team getting injured in the same game, the Colts wouldn't even be here. The Hoodie and Brady are not Reid and Smith. Sure Luck has a decent enough chance to carve up the Pat's secondary, but the Colts won't find the same kind of ease when they go on defense. I expect a fairly high scoring game here, and Brady wins in the clutch.

Panthers over 49er's-
this is just more of a hunch than anything else, but I do think Cam and the Panthers defense matchup favorably to SF's strengths.

Chargers over the Broncos-
Is this what I think will happen, or just what I WANT to happen? I don't know, but SD did beat Denver, at home, earlier, so it's not like it's a pipe dream that could never happen. Forecast is low 40's and windy. Wish it was low 30's and windy, Manning stats and rating have a very defined drop once the temp drops below 40. Guess I'm just hoping for Captain 1 and done to do it once more, and bring his playoff record to a paltry 9-12 with nine one and done's. Besides, it's not like the Denver defense is scary at all without Miller and Chump Bailey being scared of the shadow of his former self.

Conference title games-

Carolina over Seattle-
Russel Wilson's inexperience shows, and the lack of playmakers on offense finally takes it's toll. Cam elevates his game, and status as an elite QB, single handedly scoring the winng TD in the final 2 minutes.

Chargers over Patriots-
Got a strong feeling SD is taking that NY Giants approach of getting hot at the right time and following through, even if it means taking down the Hoodie along the way.
Super Bowl-
Chargers over Panthers-
Cam's performance in the Conference title game goes to his head, and he falls flat on his face on the big stage. Rivers, when asked "you've just one the Super Bowl, what are you going to do?" says, "I'm going to tell every one of my haters to suck it!" Leading to an off-season long rumor mill as to whether the Chargers will trade him for Kirk Cousins or Mike Vick, and they also draft Johnny Manziel, thinking surely he'll be different.

Anyone else?

Well, I can see all that...

For me, I see the NFC games as being tougher to call than the AFC games. I think the Pats beat the Colts and the Broncos beat the Chargers - I buy Treff's arguments for the Chargers and I think they'll be tough, but I think the Broncos offense is a powerhouse, the no-huddle will undo San Diego's desire to shorten the game, and they won't lose at home. Which means they'll beat the Pats as well (and we'll hear a lot of crap about how that game will determine who the best quarterback of their era is).

I think the Seahawks beat the Saints but I think it will be tight. If the Saints still had Vaccaro I might even go with the Saints, especially with the Seahawks looking pretty blah lately. The 49ers/Panthers game is a toss-up to me, and will go to whichever team has eaten the most Wheaties. I guess I'll lean slightly 9ers because Kaep just seems like he's out to prove something, which gives him a hair more focus than Cam.

49ers/Hawks would be another tricky one to call, because both teams will be really tough. In the end I'd guess the relentless D frustrates Kaep, while Wilson keeps his cool when it counts.

And in a Broncos/Seahawks Super Bowl, I see a crazy high-scoring game with Wilson constantly playing catchup, getting it close at the end but with Peyton putting it out of reach late.

Good call I'd say, TREFF. At least this week. I can't see the Saints being tough enough to win in Seattle. Indy had a great comback but people act like they weren't down 4 scores. Plus how do you bet against Brady? That Panthers D at home will be too much for the 49ers. And plainly and simply, how can you trust Peyton Manning? Panthers over the Pats in the Superbowl.

Whew. I thought my computer was acting up.

Anyone else?

Seahawks - Saints
Didn't the Hawks destroy the Saints earlier this season? It's tough to beat a team twice in a season. I'm not sure the Saints win though? Tough game to call. We've seen some weird stuff happen already in the playoffs. Charles concussed & out. Bengals turn the ball over 4 times (I think). I think the "weirdness" continues in this game too.
Fantasy Spin: Kenny Stills scores 3 times and bumps his fantasy draft status way up for 2014.

Patriots - Colts
Patriots used to be scarey good. Not so much anymore. This may signal the beginning of the end of their dominance. I can see the Colts winning. But if Brady decides to show up in week 19, it wouldn't surprise me either.
Fantasy Spin: T-Rich goes nuts in this game and bumps his fantasy draft status way up for 2014.

Panthers - 49ers
Disagree with Treff here big time. As Dennis Green might say, "the Panthers are who we thought they were." But they don't get "let off the hook." Niners win.
Fantasy Spin: Kaps and Crabtree go on a tear.

Chargers - Broncos
Like I said earlier, tough for a team to beat someone twice in a season. The Chargers have to hope for terrible weather, a few turnovers, or a couple of mile-high miracles. I'll be pulling for the Bolts. But this has all the makings of cataclysmic shellacking by big-head Peyton.
Fantasy Spin: Ryan Mathews gives owners hope that he an be a reliable back.

About the Pats I'm gonna go against Joe's decline-of-the-dynasty notion - in an off, injury-plagued year they're still the #2 seed in the AFC. Vereen and Gronk are likely to play more games between them next year than they did this year, Dobson and Thompkins will both execute better, and Ridley has probably learned his lesson about fumbling. Hard to imagine they will tail off much.

And about chalk... eh, what can I say. Sometimes the interstate beats the side roads.

Pretty ballsy TREFF...............

I see the Saints being able to somewhat run the ball against the Seahawks and being fairly succesful on short possesion passes and a play-action quick hitter or two...............their D has been playing pretty good lately too. With that said, I think Seattle wins this one ugly like 23-17.

Crabby makes a difference for the Niner's this week and opens up some stuff for Kaps and company BUT if he stares down Crabby on every single pass play the Panthers will make him pay the price. I think Kaps goes back to Boldin this week with a little Vernon thrown in and the Niners win 24-20.

Patsies beat up the Colts pretty good in this one IMO. BB takes away Hilton and dares Luck to throw to somebody else. Blount is gonna run for miles in this one. Pats win 31-13

Well, I don't want to "Foot" but the last time the Chargers and Donkeys met I recommended a guy to start Mathews as I felt the Bolts would try to keep the ball out of Peyton's hands and I was right! Then I proceeded to bet 25K VCash on the Donkeys..............bastards. That shit ain't happening this time. Donkeys come out and dominate this game 38-21 and it isn't even that close. Either Ball or Moreno runs for 100 and at least 1 and JT80 has a big game.

All good calls and solid rationale - at this point all predictions are definite possibilities. But being conservative by nature; I think the Pats, Broncos, Hawks and 49ers all find ways to win their respective games. The 49ers/Panthers game is the one I see as a toss-up so Panthers could easily be placed in the 49ers slot.
From there Seattle prevails as well as the Donkeys.
The weather will be a big factor in the SB for the first time in many years. Seattle runs their way to a SB championship in the snow, wind and cold - Broncos get big games from JT80 and Welker in fairer weather to outlast the Hawks in a close one.

Seattle 30 - Saints 24
Saints come to play and shut down Lynch. RW takes control and wins it on the final drive... time left for Drew, but the Legion of Boom come through in the end.

Colts 39 - Patriots 33 (OT)
The defensive losses for the Pats prove to be overwhelming for the Gronkless offense to overcome. Brady is still Brady, so Luck still has to get it done, and I see a big game from Donald Brown.

Niners 23 - Panthers 13
The Niners are rolling, and I believe there is just too much talent here for Cam to overcome. I believe Special Teams plays a big factor here. Cam needs a little more help, but watch out for the Panthers in a few years if they can replace Smitty and DeAngelo with weapons.

Broncos 44 - Chargers 20
Peyton has done some extra studying, as he takes on the Chargers for the third time this season. The first two, the offense was held under 400 yards both times... the only two times this season that has happened to the Donks! Still, I believe with Mathews not 100%, the league leading time of possession Chargers actually get run over by Moreno and Ball.

Seahawks 28 - Niners 20
I can easily see this being a toss up, but for some reason Lynch has the 49ers' number (pardon the pun). I'll take the Seahawks in a boring Superbowl tree.

Broncos 35 - Colts 21
Again, facing a team he's already lost to this season, I believe Peyton finds a way. I also believe he's glad he's not looking at Bill and Brady in this scenario!

Broncos 30 - Seahawks 24
How do you attack this stout defense the Seahawks put out there? If anyone knows, I think Peyton is in that circle. As tough as it is beating a defense like this, it is just as tough (or more) to stop DT, ED, WW, JT80 and Knowshon (and Ball).... and #18.

Very shocked at the amount of people willing to give Peyton's history of playoff letdowns a pass. Especially given every single game, he can possibly play in, including a possible Super Bowl will all be played outside, in mid-late January/February. I ain't buying it at all

ok
Exceptionally bored here watching the seconds tick off until kickoff this afternoon, so I decided, what the hell, do a little bracket-esque contest. Granted we missed out on week one, but better late than never.
So I've got everyone's picks down in bracket form, assigned point values to rounds, all that jazz.
Couple things though.

TBBishop, I was able to decipher everything from your post except the winner of the Charger/Bronco Game.

Joe & Sam- care to expand your picks into the next two rounds?

Any other takers, or last minute changes? As of now we have Seven entries, three of which have chalk Super Bowls, (Will, Lefty and TKO) all three with the same winner, so maybe a total combined points of the super bowl tie breaker might be needed?

So much for the Saints stopping Lynch! Jimmy Graham looked pathetic, scared, cold and wet.

...looks like my SB total would be 54, Treff.

Times like these, I like to recall the Bills trading Lynch away for a 4th round pick!!! And I remember being steaming mad about it too. And I remember having to defend Lynch's abilities.

The Bills got Marcus Easley in the 4th round that year, and I believe he had his first catch this year, but still can't find a way into the depth chart.

....and finally, I'll take a Jimmy Graham TD here for double points please!!!! you owe me Jimmy!

Russell Wilson, Doug Baldwin, Golden Tate, Jimmy Graham = 9 points!!! (granted, I was going "off books" anyway with me losing my Eagles in round 1... and Graham's double points was too tempting, even if it was against the Hawks.

Colts and Vinatieri to come! Man I'm amazing!
