I think the first Pic was a Defenceman's room. Forwards will get to know each other pretty well.

I really hope these game go well for the athletes' sake. This has the looks of an unmitigated disaster so far

I wonder how much of it is because of it really being a mess and how much is because there is no hiding with twitter pics and 24 hour news cycles.

Everyone I've ever known who went said 1980 in Lake Placid was an unmitigated disaster. No buses, overloaded sewers, long lines for everything.

Granted, I am in no way interested in going to see for myself...

Apparently there are rumblings out there Russian organizers are sabotaging the venues in events that heavily favour North American athletes, i.e the freestyle skiing and snowboarding to make them better suited for Russians. This comes after Shaun White got hurt today in training runs...
May just be paranoia, but with Putin, you never know.

One can hope that they're spending the money they cut corners on elsewhere to bolster security. Hope.

Is that truly sabotaging if they're just favoring their own athletes? Every host does that in the hope of bolstering their own chances of winning. For instance, Vancouver was criticized for not allowing enough access to foreign competitors to practice on the Olympic venues prior to the games, in the belief that it would benefit Canadian athletes who use those facilities as their "home" training venue.

If Americans are getting hurt on the same course that Russians can performs just fine on (if that's happening), I see no problem with that, assuming they Americans have been given reasonable access to practice.

The IOC is going to ensure that all of the facilities still meet IOC requirements. Assuming all of the facilities meet the requirements of the IOC, I see it as home field advantage, not sabotage.

And the term "Russian Problem-solving" was born.

Tell me it didn't "fix" the problem. Tell me. YOU CAN'T

I’m seeing images of these frightful Sochi hotel rooms and I’m thinking “You know what you needed, Russia? More gays."
