Yes, funny thing about football is though it doesn't usually go as expected. The Colts are one of the most inconsistent teams, yes? We also saw the Rams curbstomp the Colts in their house, yes? I have no problem picking the Chiefs against an equally flawed team even though they are at home and beat the Chiefs on the road.

I get that, and if people are picking the Chiefs simply because "football doesn't always go as expected," well, that's fine. More power to them. I just want to know if there is something I'm missing because the the Colts and Chiefs game I saw a few weeks ago wasn't all that competitive.

Not saying the Chiefs can't win, just wondering what would cause people to pick them to win other than homerism or any given Sunday mentality.

Why are you picking the Chargers over the Bengals?

They struggled like crazy against the Chiefs 3rd sting guys, will be on the road in Cincy (teams that travel that far usually don't play well) AND the weather is going to be in the upper 20's.

Just curious.

Just gotta feeling man. Rivers will get it done. Not saying the Bengals can't win but I just have a 6th sense right now.

That's cool. I'd love nothing more than for you to be right. 23 years without a playoff win for the Bengals. I'd love to see that climb higher.

I'm picking the Colts at this point as they have been playing some decent football recently but a few reasons I could see some picking the Chiefs over the Colts. The first and maybe most important is I think Houston is supposed to be back so the pass rush should see a notable increase especially against a Colts OL that is pretty shaky at best. The second for me would be the Chiefs turned the football over 4 times in that game. They have been a pretty darn good team at protecting the football so I don't see the Colts getting 4 turnovers again.

Again though still picking the Colts as it is a home game, they are playing well right now on both sides of the ball, and I just trust Luck a whole heck of a lot more than Smith.

I understand this point, but I would also say that the Colts are one of, if not the most inconsistent team remaining in the playoffs. I am not sure what to expect from the Colts, and I don't think many of their fans know either. Very odd team.

Can be said of a few teams right now.

The Chargers looked good a couple weeks ago but yesterday they looked horrible against 3rd stringers.

The Bengals were hot early on but are up and down a lot. Yesterday Dalton threw 4 INT's vs. the Ravens and Baltimore just isn't that good.

The Patriots....believe it or not. They struggled with the Ravens and it came down to the wire - and it shouldn't have.

Chiefs 24 at Colts 27 - Colts have been more battle tested vs good teams this year and will prevail at home.

Saints 17 at Eagles 31 - Eagles flying high at home vs Saints team that struggles on the road. Gimme the Eagles.

Chargers 13 at Bengals 20 - Bengals defense prevails in a low scoring affair.

49ers 27 at Packers 23 - I think the 49ers dominate but Packers keep it close at home. In the end, too much Gore.

S.D played @ Philly earlier this year and won. They're a better team now than they were then.

S.D just went to Denver 2 weeks ago (Thursday night) and won. The game time temp there was low 30's and high 20's by halftime.

I said I hope I'm wrong....I just don't see Cincy pulling it out. In fact, I think they get owned. You shouldn't need OT, a botched FG and lousy reffing to help you beat 3rd string players at home.

True but the Colts inconsistency seems to be that they beat the good teams and lose to the bad ones. I don't know that there is any team with as many impressive wins as the Colts have (Seahawks and Broncos at home, 49ers and Chiefs on the road).

I think it will be the type of game where they are dominating yards and TOP but Packers keep it close by being opportunistic. You know what I mean.

If that were the case, then you wouldn't have picked Cincy to win, wouldn't keep harping about the weather and S.D facing back-ups yesterday.

I don't care how they looked yesterday or who they played. I care that they got the W and care more about how they look this coming Sunday. The ref's missed a call on a rule that was implemented this season......shit happens. All teams end up on the wrong side at one point.

btw.....there's a difference between a botched FG and a missed FG.

Ah, so this is where I put my awesome predictions!

Colts are going to beat the Chiefs because the Colts always beat the Chiefs.
Bengals are going to win at home because the Bengals always win at home
Niners are going to beat the Packers because the Niners always beat the Packers

Saints/Eagles should be good. Im going with the Saints with their experience

The way to beat the Bengals is to pressure Dalton or have an elite secondary. Thats not the Chargers

KC is better on DEF, lot of playmakers on OFC...Smith will be safe with the ball will make a few plays with his legs. KC 24-17.

NO is not a good road team, weather game...Foles is making plays...the best player on the field will be Shady...PHI 27-24.

SF will do a good job of controlling Lacy, but I'm not sure they will get to Rogers enough...picking the home dog here...GB 21-17

CIN has too many weapons and I don't think SD has the DEF front to force Dalton into mistakes...CIN 30-24.

I do think Shady will be the best player in the game but the Saints might have the next 4 best players. I have a hard time betting on Foles, Ertz, Cooper, Lane Johnson and all of these youngins against a veteran Saints team even if Ive seen Brees make some really errant throws on the road this year.

I like our chances vs Philly. Its gonna be tough, but I think this game gets decided by which defense can make just enough plays to slow down the others high powered offense. Seeing what Dallas' d-line was able to do last night, I think Galette and Cam Jordan will run WILD on their o-line....and on the opposite side Kyle Orton had all day to throw the ball in the pocket last night(aside from when Philly brought the all out blitz). If they bring the blitz like they did last night, payton will call screen play after screen play.
As for Philly's offense, one thing I've noticed is that if you let McCoy run wild, you have no chance against them. We have to contain McCoy, but that is WAY easier said than done. Also, Philly seems to intent(even moreso than us) on getting chunk plays, which is why this game could end up in the high 30's. Personally, I can't remember a MORE intriguing wild card matchup in quite some time.
