Rodger Saffold - 5 years/23 million, 18 million guaranteed. this is a major steal. Saffold plays every position on the OL and it well worth this contract. I would like to have him at this contract. Since the Rams lost Long his value must have skyrocketed. Saffold and Talib would be huge additions to our team.

Our only hope on Saffold is that he wants to test the market and the Rams dont franchise him. Which I think the Rams might have to franchise him what with Long being a question mark and all. Im seriously hoping we stay away from talib. He just seems to be on the hunt for the payday a little too much for my liking.

True, talib will be about the money but I believe we need a CB badly and he is a top 5 Cb in this league. Hall will be resigned but Wilson and Biggers are just garbage players and should be released. I don't think Saffold will be franchised b/c they paid Long big money plus they have to give 2 big contracts for there first rounds picks one pick probably and OT. So Saffold could be there for us.

Well obviously the contract has to be right. Im not excited at all with Butler, Joesph and Jenkins. We still have Robinson and Thomas that could make a major impact next year.

His scenerio addressed major issuesL DLine, RT, ILB and Safety. That would be a great FA haul.

If this is the scenerio, we would have to draft CB and WR with our first few picks. I hope we get a 2nd rounder for Cousins and we can use that to address either WR or CB. The good news is that we pretty much have a 1st round pick (34th overall) and the Cousins pick should get us a great CB. I want a WR with the 34th overall as RG3 needs weapons.

With that high pick in round 2......I wouldnt necessarily be upset if they traded back a little in round 2 to aquire additional picks....maybe have 2 second round picks...or 2, 3, and 5 or something like that...

That all depends on who is there and what we actually need going into the draft. Lets hope we can address the O-line and D-Line and ILB in free agency. Leaving us with serious needs at Safety, CB and maybe a WR in the draft. Mind you I think our targets in Free Agency will be both lines, Safety, Cb and ILB. Leaving the draft for WR and depth all around.

:agree: I completly agree....will depend on who is there.....the offer we get....what we do in FA.....but I was just sayin.......if they did trade down....I wouldn't necessarily be too upset....

Glad that FA is before the draft, and going into the draft, we shouldn't have as many needs...

I actually wish they would move the draft ahead of free agency. Teams would be able to concentrate on the draft, then fill holes in free agency. right now you have teams (us especially) over committing in free agency, then scrambling in the draft which leads to teams over drafting players. I think it would work better if teams went through the draft, THEN knew what they needed to address afterwards. How many times have we over committed on a position in the draft because we couldnt land the FA we needed?

I would be Ok with us moving back a handful of spots in the second, but not for a few 5th rounders. Move back 5-8 spots for a 3rd or something like that. If we were able to move Cousins for a 2nd that could give 5 picks in Rounds 2-3. We need future starters...not "depth players", and the franchise has done a terrible job of recognizing those players late in the draft in recent years. It is more about quality vs quantity for me. add 6-7 quality players via FA and the draft and this team will be in much MUCH better shape next year. We have plenty of depth players who are starting now. JMHO.

Talib got torched by Josh Gordon. He seems to be getting slower all the time. Anything more than 5 mil is overpaying.

The 34th overall pick is basically a 1st round pick. Since we do not have an actual 1st rounder, I think we need to stay put. This pick should be able to start right away. I would rather draft a starter than trade back and get another 2nd rounder and a 4th rounder.

In other words, we will probably get 4 starters via free agency. We can get a 5th starter by staying put. Not having a 1st rounder last year obviously hurt us, no need to make it 2 years in a row without the ability to draft elite talent. If we were drafting for depth, I would tend to agree, but the 34th pick will have to start due to the lack of talent on the current team.

If Talib signs with us at 5 mil per season that is a MAJOR steal.

I see what your saying, and find no fault in your reasoning.....however.....as we all know, there is no guarntee....that pick could be a bust......no we move back some slots in the 2nd, maybe get 2nd round picks, or a 2nd and 3rd...then well we can get 2 starters....plenty of starters to be had in the 3rd too...plenty.....I rememebr Devin Thomas was a high 2nd and he sucked!!!!

I have no problmes stayign put and using the selection.....but I wouldnt be opposed to moving back and acquiring additional hi round picks as well....

you know trading up could be in the cards as well depending on the talent available and what we do in FA .

a high 2nd and a high 4th could draw interest from some one

our Fa should be no one over 28 yrs old . it should be focused on good young players and avoiding guys looking for a pay day .

address the needs as they come and dont worry about position and get into silly bidding wars .

stay away from the big names because we have had 2 decades of being burned

and figure that some of those FA's wont pan out . its just the way it is
