Stafford hasn't always been throwing him the ball. The 0-16 year he had a bunch of scrubs tossing it to him. That excuse is weak.

Who had Fitzgerald had that was respectable? A washed up Kurt Warner? Stafford isn't elite but he has the arm to get a lot of jump balls to Calvin.

Kurt Warner was far from washed up. He helped lead em to the SB that year. Weak.....again.

The explosion and range he has to adjust horizontally to passes. The amount of range he has from the second the ball is released the athletic ability to adjust his body for it, combined with the best hands in the league to make those tough grabs consistently, is unmatched.

Idk, I've seen Calvin make some pretty amazing horizontal adjustments for catches. You're entitled to your opinion. That's pretty subjective, though. What's not subjective is 7 years worth of 3 more yards per catch and 15 more yards per game.

Stafford doesn't shy away from just chucking it to Calvin, that's for sure. Tied for the league lead in targets. I'd agree that Fitz has better hands. Never had thought of him as an equal or a superior range guy though. CJ is an absolute freak physically. A good number of his grabs are on very poorly underthrown balls. But maybe that isn't range as much as it is reading and reacting.

And? Fitz has had nobodies his entire career. There's a difference between all nobodies and a QB.

Stafford is not very accurate. Megatron does it bssically on his own, he isn't comparable. Fitz in his prime was the closest thing, bc he had phenomenal hands. Still Calvin is a freak of nature.

A washed up Kurt Warner ? Lol. You clearly didn't watch him play his last 2 seasons. He was far from washed up. He could have played for a couple more had he chosen to. On his worst day he was a more accurate passer than Staff and CJ has only had Staff throwing to him for about half of his career so far. The rest were scrubs.

But they had a lot of hang time. I'm talking over the entire range of throws, especially hard ones. Calvin can't stop on a dime and get extended the opposite direction like Larry can.

He had Warner for more games than Megatron has had Stafford. Dan Orlovsky ? Daunte Culpepper ?

I don't know man. Stafford gets bailed out A LOT by CJ. Dead sprints, complete stops and coming back to get the ball is not uncommon. I can see Fitz getting an edge in quickness and everything that comes with it though. I mistake CJ and Brandon Pettigrew more than I'd like to admit since Calvin is so big. (Not in performance, but 81 and 87 look similar and they're comparable in size)

I've always thought that Stafford would be a pretty mediocre qb without Johnson.

Megatron can catch anything, he is a freak. No one compares to him athletically.

He did. But the difference is that stafford always gave his guy a chance with a lot of air under it and time to react. That's better than what Fitz has ever had to work with. Fitz can adjust more to throws all over the field, not just bombs.

Have you ever watched a Lions game ? Stafford's biggest, maybe only, problem as a QB is that he has very little touch. Everything is a fastball. That's only a slight exaggeration and we're hoping he's going to get better at it.... "always puts a lot of air under it" ??? lol You must be thinking of some other Stafford. As I posted before, at his worst Warner was a more accurate passer than Stafford with infinitely more touch. But I think you're just in full on troll mode now...and I actually enjoy reading some of your bullshit, but I'm going to bow out of this one. :yahoo:

Megatron is a freak of nature.

As long as there is a QB with a half decent arm tossing him the ball, he is hands down the #1 WR in the league.

After that, there is maybe 10 receivers who are elite but how much is it their ability and how much is it the QB throwing to them.

You can throw yards and receptions out the window. It's all about who catches the Touchdown passes. It gets tighter in the redzone and you have to be able to run sharp routes and get open. Between the 20's speed and hands are one thing but the ability to get open and score is what I would measure as a great WR.

Denver has 4 receivers in the top 15 in TD's.

NFL Stats - CBSSports.com

Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas tied for 2nd in the league with 10, Welker with 9 and Decker with 7 now after the 4 TD game against KC. Decker was also among the top WR in 2012 with 13 TD's, so his 4 TD game is not just a fluke.

Now how much of that is Manning and how much is the WR is an argument that can go on and on but while the top teams in each division have one or sometimes two all pro or pro bowl caliber receivers, Denver has arguably 4 of them.

Probably part of why they are on pace to shatter scoring and passing records.

I don't know if at this point you can put Julio in the top 5. He has been injured at different times and to me just isn't that must have guy on my team like a few others I would put above him. Heck there are quite a few that would take his partner in crime White above him.
