If the Saints win the game, both teams are 10-2 and the Saints would hold the tiebreaker and the Seahawks could have to play at the Saints in the playoffs which would be a completely different and harder type of game than at Seattle.

If the Seahawks win the game, the Saints get to learn from their mistake because the playoff game would be in Seattle again. That would be a similar type of game again a month later and they would already know what it is like to play in Seattle.

Just my 2 cents from an independent observer.

Both teams have a lot more to worry about. Whatever team wins controls their own destiny... for at least a week or two.

Saints play Seattle, Panthers twice, and Rams over the next 4 games. Running that table is a tall order for any team.

Seattle goes to SF and NYG. That NY game looked like a lot less of a challenge a few weeks ago, but they have been hitting their stride of late.

As for the playoffs, just learning how to play on the road at a team doesn't really give you any edge IMO. It will still come down to which teams makes the better adjustments before and during the game. Home teams have great odds of getting lucky bounces.

I disagree if the panthers win this weekend against the dolphins that would be them at 8-3 just 1 game behind the saints for first place with still 2 games left to face each other in the season. So if the saints lose to us and the panthers beat the bucs that week then the saints might not even have any homefield games in the playoffs. lucky for us we have a little bit of a cushion from the cardinals and 49ers

No, it's a big game for both teams. No team in the NFC wants to play at either NO or Seattle in the playoffs.

No team wants to play anywhere on the road in the playoffs if they don't have to.

I am sure the Seahawks and their fans welcome the Saints into our home. This will be our biggest game of the year and our team will be up to the task.

Yeah. But those two are the best team/HFA combos in the conference IMO.

It is harder to beat a good football team twice, but I don't think NO has anything to gain from losing in SEA...they're a different team in the dome...I'm giving them a pretty good chance to win in SEA and getting the #1 seed.

I think you make a valid point in your assessment. However, you fail to mention that it works both ways. And, this season, no team has been better at making adjustments than Seattle. Also, if the Saints do manage to win in Seattle, I wouldn't crown them just yet. Not with that brutal schedule they have down the stretch.

I will say if the Saints win this game (and that's a big if) I think they become the Super Bowl favorite for the NFC. Losing home field advantage would be a HUGE loss for Seattle.

Come playoff time the team to worry about playing is the Packers. A healthy Packers team with a healthy Rogers is going to be exceptionally tough to beat.

IF they make the playoffs. Looks like a very big if at this point.

Right now the Packers are in a fight to make the playoffs, but you never know....we'll see. Right now, today, I would think Seahawks, Saints and Panthers, but things change quickly, looking forward to finding out.

I am not sure you understand this. But more than three teams from the NFC will make the playoffs.

True, but these are the teams I see as Superbowl contenders at the present.

Obviously, this is the game of the year, so far, and both teams need it but regardless of who wins or loses, I honestly don't believe this will be the deciding factor for HFA. There are games coming up in December that both these teams will have trouble with. As has been mentioned, the Saints still have to deal with the Panthers twice as well as this very tough road game in Seattle and the Seahawks won't have an easy time @ the Niners or Giants and two other division games. The Cards are coming on and the Rams always play our guys tough. Nothing is ever easy in the last month of the season.

As for the play-offs, we are looking way ahead right now and the Panthers appear at the moment to be a frightening match-up for anybody but does anybody else have a little fear about the Giants sneaking into the dance or the Niners getting healthy and getting on a roll again. If they beat the Hawks in Candlestick, it would give them a huge boost going into the play-off run. As I said earlier in the year, that Niner/Seahawk game will be huge even though it looks like now it may not be for the division. I find the Green Bay comment interesting, too. When healthy and with A.R., they can beat anybody, anywhere, anytime but they may not make it in. Of course, in that division, anything can happen.

I'm confidant in the Seahawks getting the job done but it's gonna be one helluva ride down the stretch.
