Hell no! But if we can stay ahead of SF a first round bye should be in the bag. The NO game is going to be huge.

No. But they certainly took a big step in doing it.

Now if Dallas can play at least a little defense.....

Yes, yes they are.

The point of saying that isn't that it's somehow more true for the Seahawks than any other team. Lots of football left, and lots of crazy things can happen. That's all.

I know you were just asking the question, "can anybody catch us?" and the answer is yeah, somebody could. One of the ways they could is due to attrition.

And would every other team trade places with you right now? Of course. Takes some of the pressure off to be out in front. Good luck the rest of the way.

Yup, that is what I'm saying. I'm not making a declaration that we can't be caught, only that we are solely in the driver's seat from here on out. If I am a Saints, Lions, Niner, or Cowboy fan I would be thinking that the chances of getting past Seattle just got harder. SF and NO have the advantage of playing Seattle again head to head so they can control part of their destiny.

I'm pretty sure Seattle clinched the NFC West today. I'd love to be wrong, but I think not.

Oh, I'm enjoying it alright. You have to admit with 6-7 games left and a 3 game lead it looks good. Especially with the 5th easiest schedule in the NFL for the rest of the year.

SF and NO worry me a lot, but with this kind of lead it's going to be extremely difficult for another team to pass the Hawks. Can it happen? Yes. Likely? No.

Seattle needed late game luck and heroics to come back and win a game AT HOME vs TB just one week ago. Many were saying the wheels were coming off the bus and there were major concerns. Now one week later they are saying we have locked the HFA throughout the playoffs. Neither was true. It is very hard to win every week in the NFL. Great teams lose to so-called bad teams at times.

Let's look at that easy schedule you speak of:
Minnesota should be an easy win? Well Seattle has had issues with even mediocre rushers are time and the vikings have a very good one. There is room to believe they could struggle.
New Orleans is one of the top teams in the NFC and have weapons all over their lineup including a seasoned QB who was RW before RW. To believe that game is over before it is played is to ignore the history of two really good teams going at it on a Monday night game. That is far from over before it is played.
@SF. That is a division rival that HATES you and measures their season against yours and is behind you. Playing them at their home is the toughest game on paper we have left and will be anything but a cake walk. Bank on it.
@NYG. That offense has been a dumpster fire, but they are a team in desperation as it stands right now. If they are on a roll when that game comes you should be worried about it. I mean Manning will probably throw at least a couple of picks, but he has carried a team back from worse many times.
Arizona is a rival and funny things happen in rivalry games.
And then we finish the season with a resurging Rams team that is really coming on strong. Did you see what they did to Indy today? Think that is a given?

So no, all I see right now is Seattle couldn't be in a better situation just past the half way point of the season. Lots of football left to play and lots of room for mistakes and problems that lead to a loss of that advantage. :suds:

The Hawks haven't won shit yet. We've held serve. Today was the first game all season that we put together a complete game. Good to see but Atlanta is a pretty bad team right now. Actually, they weren't all that scary to begin with before the injuries. They always seem to go back to mediocre after a good season or at least, it seems like that. We should have beat them in the play-offs last year but we gave it away.
As for the NFC and HFA, we are in a good spot for sure but the Saints have been there and know what it takes and the Niners can still catch us if we falter at all. So far the Hawks have played like crap for stretches in games and hopefully today gets their heads right and they continue to get better. I just wish I wasn't working all the time and could see more than 5 mins of a game or in today's case, just the hi-lites. Go Hawks.

I would say yes barring some season ending injury to either Lynch or Wilson.

As good of a player Lynch is we have great depth behind him and I wouldn't be too worried with Turbin and Michael sharing the carries.

Wilson on the other hand is a completely different story. I'd shoot myself if I had to watch The Plague (Tarvaris Jackson) start another game for the Seahawks.

We only have one less loss than the Saints so that game will be HUGE. If we win that, then it gives us two games on them plus the tiebreaker. If we lose, then we would essentially be tied with them having the tiebreaker. Next week's NO vs. SF game will be very interesting. I think I still have to root for NO though. If NO catches us, then it knocks us down to #2, if SF catches us, it knocks us down to #5.

Isn't every team one injury away from that? One of Seattle's strengths is actually it's depth. Even if Wilson or Lynch went out right now I think there is enough depth to win 3 out of 6 games and win the West and maybe even the Conference. I'm not pretending it's some kind of guaranteed outcome, but every team in the NFC would trade with Seattle to be in their spot right now.

Wilson, probably, because he's mediocre to begin with, but without lynch you'd be lucky to win one game. Lynch is to your offense what AD is to Minnesota's.

Wilson is NOT mediocre. His passing yardage numbers are unspectacular because we're 31st in pass attempts this year ( 2013 NFL Team Passing Stats - National Football League - ESPN ) and we might be close to 32nd if SF hadn't had their bye already, while we haven't. Wilson is 5th in the NFL with a 101.8 QB rating ( 2013 NFL Player Passing Stats - National Football League - ESPN ) and last year he had a QB rating of 100, good for 4th in the NFL. Wilson is a great passer and also does A LOT with his legs.

Despite lackluster passing yardage numbers and pass TD numbers Wilson is NOT EVEN CLOSE to mediocre. He's one of the best!

Yea, we know. And the Colts won their SB in week 3, and the Panthers won their SB yesterday.....

SF better start winning some of these other team's SBs or they wont have à chance at the real one.

He is mediocre. His rating benefits substantially from an awesome run game and is as inflated by your playing style as his cumulative stats are deflated, if not more.

Médiocre? He benefits from other strengths of the team just like they benefit from him.

Eventually you will have no choice but admit how wrong you are, but until then enjoy it.
