Begs the question of what Cleveland does in response now. Should be an interesting offseason for a bunch of teams this year.
Seems to me that Cleveland will try to resign him. He pitched poorly most of his starts there, before really turning it around the last couple of months last season. I watched a couple of those later starts in which the announcers gave a lot of credit to the Indians pitching coach for straightening out his mechanics. To the extent that is true, if I'm the Indians GM, I think I want the two of them to continue working together.
That's interesting. If he pitches all year in 2014 like he did the past couple of months in 2013 he could really help a team.
If he continues the wau he has pitched he will be a good pickup. I also would be suprised if Cleveland doesn't offer him something else if they cant find anything elsewhere.
as a tigers fan... fuck no.
we have guys better in our minor league system
Ubaldo is wild trash who at the second half of a contract year has his BEST stats EVER as a starter?
Please...nobody buying that
Like who?
id rather see Smyly / Alveraz in the rotation than ubaldo and his ridicolous contract hes going to want for a half of a year
Alverez is NOT a major league caliber starter. And Smyly is far from a minor leaguer. Were you just coming heavy for affect with that previous ridiculous comment? Or do you know of a potential high end power pitcher in Detroits system that Im not aware of? (Detroits not really in the market for starters, at the moment, anyway)

Alveraz did pretty well as a fill in starter this past year..
Unmmmm.... His era was pushing 6.
I think the major worry with Ubaldo he is echoing is that he could very easily be fools gold and revert back to the 5 + Eras we saw previously with him in Cleveland. I don't think that is exactly an indefensible point of view imo.
