I believe this game will be a classic. Miami secretly wants payback for the preseason beating and the hard fouls on LBJ at the hands of the Truth. Who wins? Word.

Surprisingly, this one should be interesting...

It'll be a bit of a gauge to see where this sort of new look Nets are at...

Let's see how they stack up...

I find the preseason tactics by the nets as kind of an admittance they can not contend, if they did it in any game that was not preseason i love it, but preseason? You mindswell hard foul in practice.

I also think this is a bit of a measuring stick, for both teams.

I agree with you that it's a measuring stick, disagree about an admittance that they can't contend. I think they were sending the Heat a message that this is what they can expect.

Everyone knows that if they want to get out of the East, they have to beat Miami. Why not set that tone right away, even if it's in the pre-season?

Brooklyn should win by 15-20. This is their game 7 while this is just game 3 of 82 for Miami.

This is a measuring stick for Brooklyn not Miami. Miami knows they can compete with everyteam in the league.

I dont agree BKS. THIS is when you set the tone for the year against the NETs. If you give them hope then your not a champion. You sound like your posturing.

Whats up with Wade and his knees? Is he already having issues this year?

I agree I doubt they are purposely admitting they can not win but bush league tactics are taken by inferior teams and being physical in the preseason is bush league.

No issues. He's just not completely healthy and actually said last week he will not be completely healthy until next month. He never played B2B games in the preseason and won't play B2B games until late December/early January. The Heat have 4 more B2B until January so he will probably miss 4-6 games in the first 2 months of the season. He should play tonight.

The statement games for me come after the AS break when you're closer to the playoffs.

The games in March and April will tell me more about a possible playoff matchup than the 2 games in November and January.

The Nets are going to be like the Knicks last yr. They forget that there are other teams in the east and therefore they made the roster only made to beat Miami and will probably be beaten by Indy or Chicago before they get to Miami.

Point of emphasis, the Heat have always had questionable records against other top teams since the Big 3 arrived.

@Nets built to beat Heat...meh, I think they just grabbed up what ever talent they could and went from there. Honestly I think it was brilliantly done as well, as long as you are willing to pay the luxury tax. They kept their 3 strongest players and upgraded their 2 weakest.

I agree that they grabbed whatever talent they could but if you look at their comments, they're only focus on Miami as it is like they're totally forgetting that the East have 2 other legit teams in Chicago and Indiana who can easily take them down.

And yes the Heat always had questionable records against the top teams in the east until the playoffs came around. They almost always lost or split the season series with Indy,Chicago, Boston, and NY the last few yrs. They never dominated the season series. In 2011 i believe they lost both series to Chicago and Boston 3-1 only to win against those teams in a short 5 game series.

Not sure about that one, especially when you're talking about a conference rival...

As far as "inferior, too soon to make THAT assessment...

Of course I would not make that assessment before they play some play off games together.

My understanding of Bush League tactics:

In nature while a snake is defending itself it will wait to use it's venom for as long as possible. 2 things here. 1st and foremost, to be in a defensive position one needs to be attacked or put in a position of vulnerability. 2nd, in the defense of ones self the measures become more drastic as it becomes more necessary to survive.

I do not often see teams poised to do great things use bush league tactics is basically all I am saying, and preseason is a little early to be defending yourself.

You can try and spin this and say that snakes also use venom to hunt and kill their prey, sure. But that is a calculated plan. There is nothing calculated about bush league tactics.
