Oak pitching is legit. I think they might take the sox in 6 or 7.

People just don't give then any respect.

yup, people thought last year was a fluke. I thought they'd repeat as AL West champs. Regardless, winner of that series would be very tough for the Red Sox. Tigers have been somewhat underwhelming, but that rotation is very good.

Hopefully the Sox can take care of business at Tropicana

the only team i can see giving the red sox a run for their money is the dodgers.

that means we're going to the world series

Sox can outhit the A's and I'll take the Sox starters over the A's

Detroit starters scare me, though the Sox did beat Scherzer this year and I think the numbers vs. Verlander are decent
Verlander has 1 start against the Sox this year. 5 IP, 7 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, 4 K. No decision.

Sox can outhit the A's, but the A's do have a very underrated lineup. Despite having a .254 BA (9th in the AL), they finished 5th in the AL in OBP (.327), 4th in SLG% (.419), 3rd in OPS and runs scored. That lineup's hit much better in the 2nd half (.267/.333/.451, 338 runs scored in 67 games; .245/.322/.396, 429 runs scored in 95 games in 1st half).

Det in the playoffs ehhhhhh.

Oakland is a better hitting team than you think. They produce runs many different ways. They get on base at a high clip to. Moneyball!!!!!

Of course you would because if you didn't you would not be a Boston Homer...

You are a fan of the team you will always be optimistic its just how it is...wish I could say the same being a Buffalo fan. We are usually pessimistic.

has nothign to do with being a homer

Sox offense is significantly better than the A's and has been all season

thats not homerism, thats facts........backed up by stats

as for the starters........Colon has been better than Lester, but overall, I'll take Boston's starters......which maybe that is a little bit of homerism on my part

nah....fuck that

Boston is better team all around

I would take the Sox offense too, considering it's been the best offense in the entire league this year.

But I don't think the gap between the Sox and A's lineups is huge. Sox have had the benefit of playing half their games in a much friendlier ballpark for hitters than the A's. The Red Sox have been the best hitting team on the road this year, but the A's aren't far behind.

Also just want to point out out that the Flyers just canned Laviolette.

This makes Chip Kelly the longest tenured coach in Philly.

As well as the last playoff series won in this town were...the 76ers.
