Flacco is completing 59.5% of his passes (2nd lowest of career) and a 78.9 QB rating (career low).

He is on pace for:

~4300 yards (career high)
18 TDs (career low since rookie season)
18 INTs (career high)

Now, the question: is Flacco worth $120m against the Cap?

Argument for that would be that in the playoffs once he was lights out amazing. But now that his team can not afford other players they will miss the playoffs. hmmmm really leaves one to ponder...

Flacco contract isn't that big this year, so the answer would be no.....Any one who knew anything about the Ravens would clearly understand the Ravens offensive struggles are due to no running game and bad pass protection. It's amazing the Ravens have won 3 games with the way they are playing offensively.

I will say, it's a bit strange to see BAL struggling in the run game, especially with Rice & Pierce, but with the make up the team right now, I would bring the S in the box like PIT did, dbl Smith deep and force Joe to beat them going to Jones, et al.

I agree in regards to the cap issue as far as bringing the safety in to the box, Pitt was stopping the run in their nickle set with Troy P basically playing LB. It was a well thought our game plan by the Steelers.

Besides, its not what he makes this year that makes him cap unfriendly, its his whole contract... Its so absurd we can laugh from now until 2016 when his cap hit will be 27 million dollars.

The mininum they will have to pay him is 52 million for three years including this year.... IF they cut him before the 2016 season, his cap hit will be over 20 million in 2016 without him even being on the team. Typically players don't like to give up tens of millions of dollars.

I saw the caps, but why would they cut their franchise player?

The '16 season is a concern for BAL I'm sure, but all these QBs restructure to get more guaranteed money. I'm not sure why Joe wouldn't do the same. Just on the topic alone, I do see the $100 mil (or close to it) QB contracts hurting these teams if the cap does not increase more than it has been. Otherwise the talent will be even more diluted.
