Let humans decide the top two for the national title. Goodbye BCS. No playoffs.
Impossible for someone to be this fucking stupid. What would you change in college football to make it better?
Better than the greatest thing in the sports universe in the grand ole USA right now.
What can make the greatest better than it is now?
There's always one.Am I still a ****?
Final 4 is perfect. When has a 5th place team shown the mettle to deserve a chance at a Natty?
My sorry assed "****" ass votes for Clemson #1. ****.
Just because you don't win your conference doesn't mean you aren't worthy of a playoff spot and a shot at a National Championship. Are you suggesting that Arkansas St (9-3) which won the Sun Belt is more deserving of a playoff berth than Oregon (11-1), Florida (11-1), Clemson (10-2), Oklahoma (10-2), South Carolina (10-2), etc.? Being the best is so broad of a term. It's more about who is fortunate enough to be the last team standing. Perhaps, that team would be the best, maybe not. That's why we love to watch the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and all of the college and high school sports. The list goes on. The way they do it in major college football is such a letdown. Now, I'm not in favor of letting every conference champ in without certain criteria. For me, you have to be in the BCS top-25 to earn a spot for the 16-team playoff. Last season, 3 conference champions would not qualify--Arkansas St (9-3), Tulsa (10-3), and Wisconsin (8-5). The remaining spots would be at-larges. 2012 would've looked like this:How can you be the best team in the USA if you're not even the best team in your own league!!!!!!!?
I think an 8 team playoff would be perfect. Take the top 8 ranked teams. It wouldn't ruin the regular season, you'd need to finish in the top 8, but it would give more teams a chance to get into the NC game with less power to voters--I realize it's still based on rankings, but 8 covers enough to where you can't argue about a team being left out as much.
I don't think a playoff like this would ruin the regular season, but would make the post season more exciting.
Like many others, I would also make it so FBS schools can't play FCS schools.
As long as those 8 teams are ranked by an unbiased source and not the current polls or BCS computers.
8 teams is the way to go. But why bother with rankings? Well at least for the first 6 spots. Just take the current aq conference champs, then have 2 at large bids, I suppose we would have to go to rankings for those.
I would also make it so no more than 2 teams from any conference gets in. That way all the biased SEC voters couldnt get 3 teams in just because they have a vote.
I don't know how u legislate it but waving pass interference on underthrown deep balls
I think we've seen over the past decade not every conference champion is as good as a 2nd or 3rd best in other conferences. It just doesn't make sense to hand them out to conference champions and at the end of the day you get worse match ups.
Theres a reason they are AQ conferences. Over time their play on the field has earned AQ status. Now I'm sure you can provide a few examples of your concern. However I could counter them easily. For example the BE has for the most part been the mocked AQ conference (yes I know its gone now), but the BE has fared quite well against the supposed top conference in CFB, the SEC. In bowl games and otherwise.
The simple fact of the matter is once a conference has earned AQ status, it should mean something. Like automatically qualifying it's champion for the playoffs.
1. All penalties are to be marked off at the spot of the foul
2. Change holding to a 5 year penalty
3. When the defense is offsides the play is called dead, no more free play for the offense
4. If a player is flagged twice in one game for either unsportsmanlike conduct or unnecessary roughness he is ejected from this game.
5. If a team has a timeout they can challenge a play regardless if they have previously lost a challenge.
6. If play is stopped for an injured player that player must sit out the rest of that series.
