Well Peyton looked like he hasn't missed a step. He got a lot of help from the ravens though, including a horrible non chalange from Habough on a clear non catch by welker that seemed to swing the game in the broncos favor. I need to see a little more from both teams before I make up my mind about them. But Peyton did look sharp

C'mon CBF...it was a 5 yd gain...you really think that swung the mo with a full half yet to play?

DEN was my preseason AFC pick to get to the SB...reason?...They could go 6-0 in the DIV (5-1 worst case) I think they will end up with homefield throughout, but won't lose @ home this time. Hope I'm wrong.

I agree wholeheartedly with your thought that one game is just that...one game...lets see a few more.

Actually quite a few pats fans (myself included) have been pretty clear that peyton looked very good last night in this and other threads.

And as for how good the pats are going to be this year....well denver has yet to prove they are good enough to beat them with or with out peyton the last couple of years spuky.:suds:

Yeah well, Harbough didn't throw any of those 7 td passes, he didn't sack Flacco 3 times and knock him off his game a ton of times, or intercept him twice.

I am not taking anything away from the clinic that peyton put on last night, but yes that play was huge. If the officials had got it right or it had been challenged no first down, no TD, at least that drive, and maybe the ravens defense doesn't get so gassed.

I think people don't always realize how just a few things going one way or another can create huge swings in results in games being played at the nfl level. You look any blowout and in the vast majority of the cases you are going to see a play or 2 that, if it didn't happen that way, the results of the game could have been greatly different.

I am not saying the ravens would have won and clearly they had more than enough time to recover and didn't, but yes, that was a big play.

Well your team did pretty much the same thing to the ravens during last year's regular season (they even did it in baltimore) and we all know how much that counted when it counted.

And you might think the broncos aren't going to have a hard time with the pats, but they have got to prove it at some point; they haven't been able to yet. So I would consider waiting until at least the second game of the season before you go on what I am sure will be you 19-0 rant.

Now boys.

Anyway, I went to bed after the rain delay started. I watched the game at my leisure this morning. Seems like there was a lot to like in the first half from both teams along with some of the first game of the season mistakes (with more to come in the second half).

I also saw a Ravens squad that was pretty much gassed in the second half. Guess there is something to that Mile High atmosphere. Few injuries as well. Long story short, while I am happy for Manning and the teams vindication in front of the home crowd, I will suspend judgement on the greatness of the Broncos or the weakness of the Ratbirds until more of the season has passed. It is early folks.

It was a big play. But it was hardly the defining play in an all-time performance that many are pretending it was.

That was pretty much my point, although that seems to have been lost on nitkwik

yes because I have claimed 19-0 so many times...dude you're a clown...I'm not even speaking of the Bronco's, I dont think MOST teams will have a hard time with the pats...and since you mention it, "they haven't been able to yet" ?? I do believe the Bronco's have the best all time record against the pats of any team, you should look into that. No, I'm not afraid to see my team play the pats. I'd be more afraid of the Texans, 9ers and Bengals than the pats. Keep up the bravado though, that and Tom are all you have left.

Joe has plenty of capable players around him. This wasn't exactly an "off night" for him it's mostly business as usual.

you're right Joe played well, he had a ton of drops and no WR could get open. You're also right when you said it was business as usual, because bad receiver have been Baltimore problem for some time now, but they still manged to win a SB.....too bad Ryan can't say the same with HOF receivers.

If the pats hadn't blown out both the texans and the manning led broncos last year, I would try to take you a little more seriously (they didn't play the bengals but the dolphins beat cincy in cincy last year so I am not on board that train).

I know what the all time record is between our two teams and the only thing that counts was what happened last until the next game which is why I said the last couple of years and what happened did not turn out well for the broncos

I don't really care what YOU think and your team certainly hasn't proven they can back you up, at least not yet.

Right now the only person going to the HOF on Atlanta's offense is Gonzalez and he's on his last leg.
