Most people. In the media, I cant find one positive article on the Bucs for this upcoming season, its all negative. No One on this board has the Bucs better than 8-8. Most have them at 7-9 or 6-10. I have only found one prediction that has the Bucs with a better than 7-9 record. That was espns today. CBS has 4-12 Jets and 6-10 Bucs.

On this Board people think the Jets will win 5, 6, or 7 games. The few I have seen has the Bucs at 6, 7 or 8 wins. In fact most power rankings and prediction have the Bucs at 21. The Highest I have seen is 19. The Jets meanwhile seem to be #30 in every power ranking. The Bucs are closer to the Jets then the Playoffs most the time and I just dont see how the Bucs are closer to the Jets than a Playoff Spot, even though I am a Biased Homer. Obviously if injuries hit like the last 3 years, then it could be like that.

But the Jets, IMO, have no potential for the 2013 season. On defense...
3-4
DLine - Great. The Strength of the Team. This unit will have to play 100% every play of the season though. With the weakness around them, they have to play over their ability to make up for the lack of LBs and Ss behind them.

Outside Backers - Pace is old and while a good veteran pass rusher, how much does he have left. Plus he has never been the same since his Foot problem. Coples is a great talent but can he even stay on the field? If these guys are 100% and play as well as they can then this becomes a Huge Strength. If injuries hamper and limit one or both these guys then its a Weakness.

Inside Backers - Average. Not quick and not very instinctual. If the Outside backers and Line play above and beyond then they can be the workmans needed. But are very limited.

Corners - At least they have Cromartie. Millner is not ready for the NFL, plays too loose and is an injury waiting to happen. Wilson is a huge bust. I see a hugely disappointing year for the CBs on the Jets outside of Cromartie.

Safeties - Landry has been a streak player but is old now so who knows. I just dont see much talent here. And given the CB situation, they better hope and pray they have no injuries on the DLine or OLB spots.

Forget the Offense. This Defense is a teeter totter. If Coples, Pace, Wilkerson, Ellis and Richardson do not own the game(which they can easily), the Jets will Lose IMO. The Jets remind me a lot of the 2011 Bucs....

The Bucs were 4-2. DT Gerald McCoy got hurt for the year, while at the same time Tanard Jackson was reinstated by the NFL and just Given the starting Job. The Team imploded and Quit. Lost the last 10 games in Horrible Fashion.

If One thing happens to that DLine, this team could implode. Worse yet, if that DLine decides to pack it in then it could get real ugly.

Our CB situation is good... First off, Dee Milliner was known as a physical player in college. The only reason he was playing passive vs the Jags was because he pulled his calf muscle and was trying not to injure it more. Dee sure missed a lot of games in college for a injury prone player.
Kyle Wilson hasn't been great, but his actual CB stats haven't been bad. Darrin Walls has looked great in preseason, he was shutting down the Giants starting WRs last game. Isaiah Trufant is a little baller, Lankster was a decent dime back last season.

Coples gets hurt and now hes injury prone? His injury wasn't serious, he'll be back by week 2 or 3.

We also added Antwan Barnes who is a nice situational pass rusher, has good pass rushing numbers in limited snaps.

At ILB, DeMario Davis is still unknown. Hes not slow, hes fast. Harris has slowed down.

Safety is the biggest concern on defense. They are deep at CB and on the DL. One injury won't make our DL garbage, losing a player like Wilkerson would hurt, but we actually have good depth on the line. Our 2nd unit has looked stout in the preseason. Damon Harrison our backup NT, dominated the Giants starters. Kenrick Ellis looked dominant vs the Lions. Antonio Garay is a solid player who was a top 5 NT a few years ago. Leger Douzable was a good pickup, he has looked great.

I think we can all agree the Jets suck. However, three wins seems awfully low. They will probably go 1-1 against the Pats.

Speaking of the Jets, could you guys do me a favor and follow my buddies Twitter account @JetsFirm? He's a complete idiot, self loathing Jets fan. Even if you're not a fan of the team it's still pretty humorous. Thanks.

Both people on Grantland's NFL Preview podcast picked the Bucs to win the NFC South.

I agree with them. I have the Bucs winning the South.

One of those "surprise" division winners that we seem to have two or so of each year.

Honestly, that division is completely up for grabs. There is actually a good chance that the Falcons defense might actually be kinda bad

The Saints, Falcons, and Panthers all have better QBs than the Bucs though.

And thats the rub with almost every preseason pick. I could bang my chest that no one is picking the Rams but no one really believes in Bradford. People aren't too keen on Freeman. People absolutely hate Sanchez. It is what it is and they just have to get out on the field and prove people wrong or else their teams will struggle.

That Week 1 game last year left me with a bad taste for both the Panthers and Bucs. But this year really has a 'changing of the guard' feel to it.

I can run podcasts and say the Bucs will win the Super Bowl as well as the Stanley Cup.

NFC South Preview: Atlanta Falcons remain favorites - NFL.com

So far.
We have
4th place Bucs at 6-10
4th place Bucs at 6-10
4th place Bucs at 7-9
2nd place Bucs at 8-8

2013 NFL team-by-team record predictions - CBSSports.com

4th place Bucs at 6-10

2013 NFL season predictions - NFL Nation Blog - ESPN
4th Place Bucs at 9-7 (first winning record predicted, yet still in Last Place)

2013 NFL Predictions: Win-Loss Records for Every Team | Bleacher Report
4th Place Bucs at 5-11

Inside This Week?s SI 2013 NFL Preview: Peter King?s Predictions | Inside Sports Illustrated
3rd place Bucs at 8-8

Out of the 8 Predictions
6 of them have the Bucs in Last Place.
5 of them have the Bucs with a Losing record
4 of them have the Bucs with a WORSE record

Half of the somewhat legit Sports Sites think the Bucs are Worse. Only 2 think they are better.
I would really Love to read ONE prediction, that seems to say the Bucs are not worse now than in 2013. Just One.

And NONE of these articles on the Bucs are Positive. All they talk about is how Freeman wont be a QB in 2014, Dominik is about to be fired, and Shiano should be in College.

LMAO!!!!!!!

Luckily for the Bucs the NFL is not a fantasy league, otherwise Meaningless stats mean more then meaningful wins...

When Newton can generate a winning record then he might be in the discussion. Freeman Has Actually taken a team worse than ANY Newton lead Panther team, to a 10 win season.

Yes, but the only reason Id listen to your podcast is to hear your explanation for Seattle being ranked #20 in your Power Rankings.

Jets shouldn't be bad on defense but have major questions at WR and QB on offense. I actually like Chris Ivory and their line.

I still think Oakland, Jax, and KC will be the worst this year. I think KC is horribly overrated. Questionable receivers, injury prone RB, ANOTHER new offensive coordinator for Smith, and the defense has injury suspects all over the team.
