Weird looking play because it didn't look very bad. Announcers thought he may have sprained his ankle and I kind of thought the same thing. I'm stunned that the result was a broken leg. I believe we will see a day when preseason football doesn't exist. The game is just to dangerous to have serious injuries in games that mean nothing.

Exactly my thoughts... looked like he tweaked his ankle or something. I was shocked when I discovered that it was in fact a broken leg. Absolutely crushing news.

One of, if not the worst preseason games I've witnessed the Cardinals play.

They were bad in almost all aspects of the game.

I truly felt it was a 6 win team, now...I'm leaning towards 4.

I'd trade a 4-12 or 3-13 for JaDeaveon Clowney though.

Nothing to like about last night. I can't stand that the defense can't get Any pressure on the qb... None..and we sent the sinkost of the night.

Coopers injury is an absolute killer, and we might not have Mendenhall for awhile too.

Truly a horrific night...Arians should be livid.

Go back some years ago and I remember some bad injuries in a preseason game at Minnesota. Make the schedule 18 games and play no preseason. At least I feel better losing a player when the game counts compared to a practice game.

Often in sports guys do better playing all out than playing not to get injured.

The good - The running game. 6.7 yards per carry. Weather it was Mendenhall or Smith, the Chargers couldn't stop the run attack. Patrick Peterson. Shut his half of the field down again. Rivers wouldn't even throw his way. Honey Badger. He did a solid job in nickle coverage and forced a turnover on a blitz hitting Rivers arm and causing an interception.

The Bad - Boneheaded play all around. Realistically speaking, as bad as the Cardinals played and looked in all phases of the game, the score could have, and probably should have been 7-7 at the end of the half. Housler dropped a perfectly thrown TD pass from Palmer. The ball hit him right between the numbers. There couldn't have been an easier pass to catch. Then they get a short field goal blocked to boot. The TD the Chargers scored at the end of the half was a bonehead play by Johnson. The D makes a great play stripping Mathews, Rashard Johnson, a safety, recovers the strip and then try's to pitch it to a lineman who is half his speed on their own 1 yard line. As a result, the pitch goes right to the chargers tight end and he walks in the end zone. Fluke play, that Arians will never let happen again. Combine that with the 3 pass interference calls on Powers and the other 115 yards in penalties, The Cardinals 1's are right in the game, probably with a lead. Fortunately, most of the bad play are mistakes that can be easily corrected.

The ugly - Injuries!!!! I was at the game and saw that Cooper could put no pressure on that leg. None. I knew at that point it was serious. Mendenhall looked to be moving around pretty good so I am not sure about his injury. The high ankle sprain Housler suffered is not good. That is a nagging injury that takes time to heal. Dan Williams sprained his ankle as well. That sucks because he is our biggest run stopper (if there is one on this team). With all the injuries to key players, could be a long, long season for the Cardinals.

Final analysis - I HATE THE FUGGING PRESEASON!!!

Anyone think that we should cut Dockett now we would save so much cap space, I think David Carter is just as good to be honest.

It should be 2 preseason games and 16 regular season games. 4 is too much... and the injury risk just makes it counterproductive.

Housler is more frustrating than Early Doucet was. Doucet just dropped everything and sucked. Housler is generally good but usually drops like a 40 yard bomb for a TD or something crucial. Expect that to continue, that's just who he is.

Wow. He'll only be out 10-12 weeks... Arians said he could be playing by week 12 or 13. That's somewhat good news.

That would be best case at this point, still very disappointing though.

If he can just return for at least the last 5 games and produce I'll be happy at this point. A lot better than him missing the entire year. Needs to get some run out there in real game situations. I want him to fully recover of course but I wouldn't mind seeing him in there as soon as he's ready to go.

Dockett is a vocal and emotional leader I think. I don't believe you are giving him enough credit for the impact he makes on the team outside of just his play.

He is a leader and I think that is underappreciated but he's also a bit of a head-case. Last year he refused to let (I think it was the Jets) score despite being ordered to by the coaches to give AZ another drive to win the game and was the only guy trying to stop them. Not exactly great leadership qualities considering the coaches (for once) were making the right call.

I think when things are going well, Dockett is great, but when they aren't (and, well, this is the Cardinals) he could be a problem.
