I didn't even realize your local guys were making a big deal about this. I thought it was just people on a message board overreacting. The media must be bored.

Shanahan is not RG3's boss. RG3 is more valuable to the franchise than he is. If he is cleared he should get some live action to be prepared for the season.

While he is on the field - yes - Shanahan is RG3's boss. If they go to a setup as you suggest then why even have a coach? Like him or hate him - Shanahan is not anyone's puppet. This is not the Zorn regime where the coach is simply there as a front man for Snyder. This isn't the Dallas Cowboys.

You act as if their current success has absolutely nothing to do with Shanahan which is ridiculous. We get it - you hate the guy but please don't misrepresent the facts.

It's basically all you'll hear on local radio. And all the beat reporters won't leave it alone.

This is highlighted by a member of the national media coming on the Lavar Arrington radio show yesterday to tell Arrington that it's not an issue, followed by Lavar yelling at the guy.

What's funny is that the majority of the national media think that it's no big deal. The local media seems to be so starved to create a story or be important, that they are the ones behind the non-stop push on this topic.

In reality none of this is a big deal. Once the real season starts all of this will be forgotten. You are not quite correct about the national media in this case since ESPN for one talks about this all of the time. This is all a byproduct of a 24x7 media era where they always need something to cover. All of us can simply choose to just shrug it off & focus on what occurs on the field. When all is said & done RG3's success this season will not be determined by whether he took a handful of snaps in a preseason game.

You should just be happy that they are talking about the Redskins! I would kill for that. I now live in Alabama & all they talk about is the freaking SEC. I sometimes want to throw my radio out of my car - I really need to renew my Sirius subscription.

It's like Caldwell while manning was there. Peyton was higher on the food chain.

Not a good comparison by any stretch. Caldwell was a fill-in coach with not much to show. Shanahan is an established coach with a very good track record - not simply for the Broncos but what he has done to rebuild this team during the last several years.

Again - your point would have been well taken during the tenure of Zorn. However - it is just not the case at this time & no doubt Snyder is in Shanahan's corner (not suggesting that the coach & RG3 are at odds - just that the coach has the backing of the organization).

Given what occurred with RG3 last season I highly doubt this organization would argue with the coach to play RG3 in the preseason against his wishes. I think you are way off on this one.

If you could only keep one who would it be?

That's why RG3 is higher on the food chain. That doesn't mean he fights Shanahan to that level, but if he does, he wins.

I agree with that, but that is not the current situation. Snyder has done a good job of staying out of the mix (unlike Jerry Jones) during the last several years & this has been a partial reason for their success. I see no way this is changing at this time. Let RG3 have his press conferences & do what he has to do. Won't change the fact that Shanahan will stay the course & continue to run the team.

Again - all of this will be forgotten once the regular season starts.

I don't know why it's a big deal now.

I let him play so he can settle into live action before the regular season. The pecking order was kind of a separate point. This won't become that.

If RG3 was the boss, then he'd be playing in preseason, no?

Is Belicheck the boss of Brady, or does Brady take his marching orders directly from Kraft?

When I ask the question I posed the answer is very easily Belichick. You can't make the same argument unless you would keep Shanahan and get rid of RG3.

So if a rift developed between Belicheck and Brady, say 3 years ago, that couldn't be fixed, they would have jettisoned Brady?

Actually, I agree. But you are wrong about Shanahan. Make no mistake. He is the boss. That doesn't mean Snyder would choose Shanahan over RG3, but while he is the HC and President, he is the boss.

Shanahan is merely pushing forward with caution. Last years debacle was just that and RG3 talked him into continuing to play. That mistake won't happen again under Shanahan's tenure. He want's to protect the kid at this point and the recovery time is still currently on the short side as it stands. Griffin will not play in any preseason game and won't play game #1 unless cleared by his surgeon, Redskins medical staff and Griffin must display 100% health to the satisfaction of Mike Shanahan himself.

Whoever posted previously that this is strictly an issue that is local to the DC area is completely wrong. I was skimming through the ESPN channels (a bad habit like smoking:rollseyes:). This topic was pretty much all they talked about (except for the occasional break when they talked about Manziel or LaBron's chances if he was in the NFL).

The regular season cannot get here soon enough.

Completely agree. Also - to resolve any potential bad feelings between RG3 & the Shanahans (which I don't believe exist) they simply need to talk this over among themselves - not to any of us or members of the media.
