And I didn't think he should be suspended given it was so long ago and had already faced punishment

This looks like Sark knowing he wasn't going to play and decided to look hard

Several people who gave him advice told local radio that they all advised him to give him at least a one game suspension including rick neuheisel and lambright, both former UW HC's. RN spoke at length about his issues with Jeremy Stevens and others. They all told him fans and the school will never blame him for holding him out a game, but not appearing to be tough on serious charges could come back to bite him.

I can see where haters are going to jump to that conclusion, but it doesn't jive with the facts.

Couldnt he have just suspended him for 30mins a la Manziel? Or vs Idaho State? Who says it has to be the first game of the season in a new stadium?

He crashed his car while drunk and refused to cooperate with authorities, forced them to take his blood to measure how hammered he was and was still way over the limit. That can't be acceptable behavior. I sense you wouldn't be as upset if Idaho State was the first game and he was still out. I'm totally fine with him sitting out. It's the right thing to do for the program. You can't just look at the game, look at the long term message here.

Think he could have looked more in charge by telling people to F off that it'd been several months and ASJ had been disciplined over and over. Like kicking a dog (pun intended) 8 hours after he shit on the floor

So let me get this straight. We spend the summer listening to Ducks, Broncos, and other types cry and bash Sark because he didn't make any calls about suspending ASJ for at least the opening game. That Sark refused to discipline him simply to gain maximum advantage in the opening game. That he now had lost all integrity as a disciplinarian.

Then he does suspend him for a game, and now he's being bashed for that?

All of you clowns are full of :bullshit:

He deserves to be punished, I agree wiz. What I don't agree with is punishing the entire team. His absence does that. Especially in one of the biggest games of the season. If it was mandatory that he miss the 1st game I wouldnt whine much, but is the NCAA saying he has to miss the first game? Its a situation handled by the team in this case isn't it?

In todays game when you have options you need to exercise them to your advantage. It's just the way it is. I'd rather him sit out 3 games against our three weakest road opponents rather than just this one. Sitting him for 3 games and not letting him travel with the team punishes him, and very likely not the rest of the team.

It is what it is. I won't snivel anymore about it beyond this post.

However ASJ is a vital part of our offense, so vital in fact that his absence has me changing my pick. I had UW 19-17, I'm going to go ahead and pick BSU 19-17 now.

Blow me up if I'm wrong!

I was hoping he would play. That way there would be no excuses.

Either way, Broncos win. Now they just win bigger.

Broncos over the Fuskies by 2 TD

Given that I know you from our past at cBS I know how to take your posts pretty well lol. You are the eternal skeptic and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I agree that it hurts the team more than him and I also believe he probably faced far worse punishment over this off season. The reality is game suspensions is the only real public punishment you can do. It will cut into his season stats and reduce his chances at awards and whatnot. Yes, it punishes the whole team which in turn also punishes him more. Don't think for a moment that he hasn't had to apologize to every member of the team for letting them down and putting himself in this situation. Do you think others on the team are seeing what happens when you don't act like you should? That message is huge. Everyone knows now that if you screw up you will be punished heavily no matter how untouchable you may think you are and no matter how big the game was you will miss. It sets up future situations and sends a clear message to everyone here now, and recruits coming in latter.

As a fan of course I'd rather ASJ plays. He is good for maybe 5-6 catches in a game like this. Those plays will go to someone else who may or may not make the same impact. The more troubling part is he may be the best blocking TE in the country and on a team where pass blocking has been an issue that loss is the key. Still, both backups got every rep in spring and most of the reps with the 1's this camp and have done well. It's not time to panic. I still fully expect, or even demand that they win this game. Failure and I call for Sarks head. There is no excuse for losing this game whether or not he plays. Period.

Exactly. I'm not super concerned with the catches, as has been pointed out elsewhere our wr's should do fine, if Price gets time.

Our season is going to go the way the O line goes. I think ASJ is a better blocker than the lot of them. :P

Still preseason for ya mamba? I'm all for some good trash talking and even cleaver or interesting trolling, but this was neither. You aren't bringing your A game at this point man. Sad... just sad.

Well, as you know I created this thread. And I haven't contributed to it much. Just the enjoyment of watching the bickering between Boise and UDuh is priceless. That was a troll thread without even trying. And it werked to perfection. Stirrin shit between yall was on the menu.

Thought I would give my 2 cents on your fat lazy alcoholic liar of a TE. We all know the excuses are loaded up. But hey, I actually have the Fukies winning this one.

Ol 7 wins sark needs this one to get to 7. As the PAC will once again kick the shit out of you.

4th in the North, I would consider that about on Par..... No???
