Until I moved away from Ft. Campbell I never realized that the sky wasn't full of C130's everywhere. Also got to see Chinooks and assault choppers on an hourly basis.

Ya, pretty routine stuff around here. It's always fun to see relatives come down to visit and be all Ohhhh and AWwww.

We take them to a game and going down I24 theres always something in the air heading back to cambell flying low and they seem to enjoy that more then the damn game.

Campbell but it was the freakin Space Shuttle strapped on the back of a solid white 747!! He said it was about 500' off the deck and about the most impressive thing he's ever seen. Would have paid good money to have seen that!

Ya, me too. I did see the shuttle land at White Sands New Mexico back in the early 80's.....I guess bad wheather was going on in Texas where it was suppose to land so we drove out there and watched it land. We were at Ft Bliss Tx at the time visiting another Military family member at the time and made a day out of it.....That was big news back in the day, but I think I would have prefered your dads version.
