If you can't score you can't win. The Rangers problem has been offense. They create plenty of opportunities they just can't put the puck in the net.

With that roster, that can't happen. So much talent. That's why I'm on the "wrong system/coaching style" bandwagon.

I can also see them sitting tight and regrouping for next year. They would be foolish to mess with the roster that they have. Coaching change or no change to me.

I'd trade Gaborik in the offseason if I were them, especially w/ Torts. I mentioned it earlier, but he's the biggest casualty of the Torts system. Which doesn't make a ton of sense considering he played for the "sit and wait" Wild...but it seems to have quashed his offensive abilities.

They should buy out Nash.

I posted in another thread somewhere but Tort's system is stifling the team's offense.

They collapse to block shots; no one seems to bother covering a point. This is hardly conducive to having the puck more than the other team.

Once they do regain possession you could throw a queen-sized bedsheet over all five skaters; no outlet passing options and no one with any really north-south momentum.

Success in the NHL is becoming increasingly becoming a possession-based phenomenon. Torts needs to adapt.

Do you think he's brought his winning ways with him from CBus 43?

Short answer, no. That team is failing because Torts is an asshole.

In the right situation, Nash can be great again.

He was not ready to be a captain and carry a team/city on his shoulders.

Up there, I think he's not ready to be the fall guy. It's probably bugging him.

If you let him show up, take his shifts on the first or second line, and leave him the hell alone otherwise, he could return to being that unholy beast. I think if he came back to Cbus and didn't wear a letter and just was the sniper guy the beast would come back.

I was (mostly) kidding. I think that team has some real flaws and many "experts" over rated them but I agree the biggest problem is the team has stopped listening to the coach. You can only listen to someone yelling at you for so long before you tune it out.

He has been great, the problem is he's the only one.

Cant have poor self esteeem.....

He also apparently told Gaborik that Columbus is a great place and he should waive the NTC and go there.

Nash is a disruption. BUY. HIM. OUT.

why doesn’t Hagelin get a chance on the power play, which is 2 for 31 in the playoffs going into Game 2 against the Boston Bruins on Sunday?

“Because he stinks on the power play,” Tortorella said after the Rangers practiced Saturday. “I don’t know why. I wish I could play him on the power play. Every time I put him on, he stinks.”

Now there's a coach players will gut themselves for.

Maybe Torts will say that Lundy sucked tonight and it is not his fault.

As a coach to a bunch of kids he is great but this team has a lot of talent and his pack it in non stop and block shots style can only go so far.

I think the players have tuned him out. I would if I was a player on that team
