The Jets obviously want to pull off a repeat of Indy's "suck for Luck" campaign.

Gregg Rosenthal:

My guess: Trade only makes sense if Revis works out a new deal w new team first. Injury makes that tricky

But there's no one of Luck's caliber in this year's draft, maybe Johnny Football can come to us

They want to lose in 2013, to get the first pick in order to draft Jadeveon Clowney. What a conspiracy!!

yes yes yes

How about Alex Smith and our 2nd for Revis and their 4th?

Imac I agree with you, I would make this trade so quick. I would even say Alex Smith and our 1st round pick. Not like that pick will pan out "AJ. Jenkins"

wat

You wouldn't give up the 32nd overall pick for arguably the best CB in the league...in his prime?

I'd do that in a heartbeat. Who are you gonna get at 32 that's gonna be better than Revis? And Rogers will be irrelevant in a year or two.

Lets o get Revis,

Baalke call the Jets asap

If they would take Alex Smith and the 49ers 1st round pick, I'd do it in a heart beat. (I'd even throw in a 3rd or 4th)

It has already been said but I agree, the one hangup is how he wants a raise every 2 years. Obviously that gets old, which is probably why he is even available... the Jets are tired of that BS.

I would offer a 1st and some conditional picks.

The Jets really don't have a lot of leverage in this because of their cap situation, the fact Revis is coming off an ACL tear, and a team that trades for him can't franchise him.

Doubtful they take Alex Smith due to his contract and them needing to shed money due to the cap and really I doubt they take on any players for that matter because it's much cheaper to get draft picks.

Adam Schefter on SportsCenter on the possibilities they trade him:

"This is not going to be an easy deal for the Jets to pull off for a variety of reasons. They are already going to be $30M over the cap. Alot of people are saying $19-$20M over the cap, but in talking to teams around the league that keep these figures, they believe the Jets are going to be $30+M over the cap. To trade Revis would be an additional acceleration of another $3M, depriving the Jets of some of the flexibility they need."

"Plus, they're going to be looking for alot back in return for one of the premier CBs in the game. The problem is he's coming off a torn ACL and heading into the last year of his contract and he wants a huge, new, monstrous deal. There are alot of obstacles the Jets must overcome.

"If the Jets keep Revis for this year and he walks away the year after, they still would get a 3rd-round compensatory pick back. There's alot to overcome here. It doesn't mean a deal wouldn't get done, the Jets will look into it, but it's going to be a difficult deal to pull off for a variety of factors."

Here is what ESPN just showed for teams who are going to be the most over the salary cap going into the offseason:

Jets - 22.1M over (Again, Schefter said many believe people it'll be 30M+

Cowboys - 19.9M over

Saints - 16.7M over

Steelers - 14.8M over

Panthers - 12.8M over

So, basically, whatever team trades for Revis will have to negotiate a new contract with him...

My biggest worry about Revis is that he seems like one of the biggest punks in the NFL who is all about the money. I guess that's not as big of a problem with CBs than with a lineman or a LB because playing CB doesn't take as much heart IMO. However, that kind of attitude can rub off on other players. I would hate to see that happen with a bunch of guys who just won SB rings. Also, the ACL tear can't be ignored.

My instincts tell me it would be better to keep the 1st rounder and Rogers. It would be really tempting to get potentially the best CB in the NFL though. That defense would be INSANE!

The best Cb in his time who has a huge contract missed last year with an ACL and wants a new contract....I'd give them a seventh rounder.

I wonder what he thinks about the "jet nation" having to constantly worry about his contract demands.

If he'd just show up and play....seems like a lot of potential drama.
