Except it locks the west out of the bigger TV markets for most of the season, and puts Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan all in the same division. Why not just kick us out of the conference and get it over with?

Isn't Chicago the 3rd largest market in the country?

PSU has been castrated for the next 6-7 years and Wisky has been better than them since 1993 anyway.

The West division would have the 3 time defending Big Ten champs, not the east.

I really don't care what the division set ups are as long as OSU and scUM are in the same division. the other non-OSU division can get the Chicago, NYC, DC markets. I just want that one game.

You'd still be waiting a long time between games, and forcing other schools to live without their rivalries. So no. At least my version is trying to give everyone the best possible schedule. Yours is pretty much just about Ohio State fans. No offense intended, just how it looks to me.

OSU fans only want one thing.

easy trips to PSU, IU and UMD would be great but as long as we get our one game then put us in a division with Minny, Iowa, Nebraska, turdue, etc. Doesn't matter.

Putting Michigan and sCUM in the same division isn't a priority opinion, even in your own fan base. NYC is bigger than Chicago. The entire state of Ohio is behind Ohio State, also bigger than Chicago. Pennsylvania is bigger than Chicago. Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska are the 4 least populous states in the conference.

See what I'm getting at?

Yes. Thank you. In the North/South split you get your one game. You also get PSU, IU, and UMD.

Once again, in my opinion North/South works. I think it works even better now.

North: Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan State, Rutgers

South: Nebraska, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, Penn State, Ohio State, Maryland

To some degree you split the Illinois/Chicagoland TV sets between the divisions. You give the south the huge Pennsylvania/Ohio/Indiana population base plus the D.C. area. NYC and Michigan tv sets go basically north. This also breathes life back into the natural rivalries, especially after adding these cross divisional games.

Michian - Ohio State (the game)
Iowa - Nebraska (border battle)
Penn State - Rutgers (which is a rivalry the B1G wants anyway)
Purdue - Northwestern (battle of the private schools)
Wisconsin - Illinois (border battle)
Michigan State - Indiana (border battle)
Minnesota - Maryland (battle of the after-thoughts/once upon times)

Somebody e-mail Delaney and get me a job

too much isolation for NU in your plan. psu north and iowa south would be better IMO.

osu - mich
iowa - wisc
md - psu
ill - nw
purdue - msu
indiana - rutgers
nebraska- minn

If there is a chance for a rematch then it's a perverted abomination.

I don't understand why you(or anyone else in the conference) would be for that?
It's a sick Delaney fantasy to make THE GAME as the Big Ten champ game.

If I was a fan of the other 12 teams I would do everything to make sure that both of the schools couldn't make it to Indy. I'd be pissed that Delaney would be so presumptuous

Yes. But you don't know enough about B1G football. Iowa and Minnesota have a rivalry. That rivalry stays intact. Then Iowa and Nebraska get their crossover. Nebraska fans talk a big game about traveling, so let them travel. Just like Minnesota travels in the other model.

Indiana and Rutgers have ZERO rivalry. Northwestern and Illinois barely have a rivalry.

In your opinion. And the likelihood of it actually happening isn't as high as Michigan and Ohio State fans would like to believe.

I never want it to happen. That's why I want them in the same division. lol

We will give the Wisky division : NU(Chicago), RU(NYC), UMD(DC), PSU, UNL, and Minny(Twin Cities).

And yet not in my model. Nebraska isn't any more isolated than Penn State was. So we can do it. We did it for a long time. In fact, only Rutgers and Maryland saved Penn State from their island. Yet the Lions were very much a part of the conference.

Minnesota in my model already plays their biggest rivals. Nebraska adds a border game. Maryland gets "isolated." It still works. It's the most equal TV distribution. It's the most even rivalry distribution. It's the most even competitive distribution. It's the only model that deals with all three fairly.

And in the north/south layout they're in the same division. Like I said, the north south layout protects the most rivalries, and evens out the TV markets. IMO, it's the best option.

Alright, then that actually looks really good.

Fine. We can take those bums.

We get the loosiers, turtles, turdue, Illini and Sparty.

I would actually like that division a lot.

Wait so...

Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Rutgers, Penn State, Northwestern

Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Purdue, Ohio State, Maryland, Indiana

Wisconsin - Michigan State
Iowa - Illinois
Rutgers - Maryland
Nebraska - Ohio State
Penn State - Michigan
Northwestern - Turdue
Minnesota - Indiana <--LOL

I still think North/South works best. Even if you go Tabasco's route.

I think this option works best. I can't think of too much complaining from any school outside of the newbies

would that be for bball too?

I don't think they would have Bball divisions. the SEC went away from it.

If it is then, fuck! the inner is a tough ass division. Northwestern would be the division chump. Every other team has a really good program.

They had questions on BTN asking if they should make bball divisions. I replied no, reason being you can at least play every team once in basketball, it'd be unfair to crown Mich St. the regular season champ if they avoid playing IU and tOSU one year. This is based on the assumption we'd only have the tourny at the end, not a championship game between the two division leaders. What do y'all think?
