Playoff rotation

Assuming we win the division and #1 seed. We play oakland or baltimore. How would you set up your rotation?


Vs mine would go Yu, Harry, Dempster, Holland

Yu, Harrison, Holland, Dempster.

I don't buy the "split the lefty" perspective. The #2 and #3 guys always will have a day off between games in a different park no matter LDS, LCS or WS. It isn't like regular season where you play 3 games in 3 nights.

I hadn't thought about the parks, but the more I think about it I think you're probably right as long as there's a day off and they're pitching in different parks. That being said, I like your rotation for that reason. But Yu needs to be the #1 without question.

So if we're in Oakland holland starts in Oakland. If we're in Yankee stadium we're screwed.

I looked at park adjustment rankings for the first round only. OAK is ranked #21 while RBIA is #5 and Camden Yards is #6.

In the ALDS it really makes sense for Holland and probably Dempster to pitch game 1 and 2 on the odds bet that TEX plays OAK. If they play BAL ... well its pretty much a wash the parks are so close and doesn't matter and either a Yu-Harrison or Holland-Dempster setup would work.

Problem is if you go to OAK and don't win in 3 games ... your rotation is screwed for the second round. So while it makes sense for Holland especially to pitch in the biggest place you can find ... after that you are messed up and in the next round he's at RBIA.

We will finagle this about a 1000 times more intensely than TEX will I am sure.

He'll probably blow our minds deciding to go with RO in Game 1.
