He was due for a stinker. He'll, Verlander has had some shitty outings lately. The key will be to see how he rebounds. I think he has 2 more starts this season. Don't forget how dominant he's been before last night.

i was looking at a stat where he had given up the worst HR to AB ratio of any starter this season that worries me

Yes, and how many of those came while holland was battling weight loss, fatigue, and a nasty stomach virus?

I will say this about Holland..... he has consistently given up the long ball. He's good for at least 1 a game.

Progress? haha.

Colby was very prone to the long ball too, but would've been our game 1 starter without question. It wouldn't bother me if he gives up 1 guaranteed solo shot per game if that's all he's giving up.

Kneejerk. Dempster against a playoff caliber offense would be ground meat.

I don't exactly consider the A's as a playoff caliber offense.

Only offense that really worries me.... Is the Rangers. (Haha). But no, really....the Yankees.

If memory serves me ... offense in the post season is frequently absent. You win in the playoffs with pitching your best guys as often as you can. If you are having to use more than 4 RPs ... you are losing.

I don't exactly consider the Rangers rotation a playoff caliber rotation. :eyebrows:

As simple as this sounds there could be a 3 way tie for first place. The chances of this are probably way over 1 in a million.

Angels sweep Texas and Seattle.
A's lose 2 of 3 to Seattle and sweep Texas.

If Yu keeps pitching lights out I do.

Takes more than one to make a rotation. The other three are a crap shoot most nights and that makes me hope we don't see the Yankees any time soon. Hope I'm wrong.

I disagree. Aside from his crap start against the A's Holland has been very good down the stretch. Harrison will be fine. Just a bad start. Dempster is the one who's hit or miss.
