when I have kids (I do want them) I'll go in knowing I'm facing at least 12 years of sleeplessness before they become teenagers and sleep all the time. But I've been sick recently so I've been sleeping a lot, so 6 hours isn't that much.

When these start, you'll notice (sometimes clearly, sometimes it's a little harder) that they shut off all the microphones in the student section. If they're having an off day, it'll be quieter for a second or so, but then they crank up the non-student microphones.

It is much more pronounced in basketball (especially the NBA), but sound guys are very good at creating whatever atmosphere they think will sell.
