#1 vs (#4/#5)...then #2 vs #3
Oh.... and #1 has to travel to the winner of the #4/#5 matchup for the first 2 games.

The 2-3 setup is only for 2012 and applies to both the #1@#4/#5 and #2@#3.
Next season it goes back to the 2-2-1 schedule.
Not sure why Romeo would say "Almost makes you want to have the second best record" ... since #2 visits #3 for the same 2-3 schedule. Maybe he didn't read up on this stuff ahead of responding.
I thought was only for the 1-4 series.

It's really stupid because the lower seed can get some momentum going and put the pressure on the higher seed by winning two home games.
This is why I don't like it. regardless of the game format, I don't like the top seed having to play away from home first.
In the Meatime The Rangers need to Keep Winning Every Series. Oakland is Incredible Right Now. There on Their Way to a 6th Straight Win. Rangers Lead will be Down to 4 Games Going into Tomorrow. Lets Win the Division First before we all worry about Playoff Seedings. Lots of Games Left with the Athletics and Angels in September.
I'm not worried....![]()
And in case you were wondering why....
"uncommon" opponents remaining
TEX - Cle, KC, TB, Cle
OAK - Bos, Balt, Det, NYY
They have a 13 game stretch of Balt, Det, NYY, Tex
Rangers in that same stretch?
Sea, LAA, Sea, Oak
