Wasn't real keen with two wildcards beginning of the year.

We are used to two or three teams in the WC chase ... AL has five right now. With three division leaders that means AL has eight of fourteen teams all still in the hunt.

This is going to get very crazy!

And the really crazy part is that the A's and Angels just keep winning every night. The Angels had their brief losing spell which knocked them back out of the race, but now they're back to winning big every night. The AL West is far and away the best division in baseball record-wise. Even the Mariners have become somewhat respectable, better than Toronto, Boston, Minnesota, Cleveland, and Kansas City. The Rangers have to be feeling like "what is it going to take to put both of those teams far in the rear view mirror". The A's should be at least 8 back by now based solely on their ERA's and batting percentages. But every night at least one or two different guys steps up big for them.

I'm really looking forward to the A's and Angels beating up on one another at the start of next week. I'll be cheering for Oakland all the way. I want no part of Trout, Pujols, Trumbo, and Weaver in a 5-game playoff series.

Angels are still in it dont count them out yet

If you believe in computer generated odds then according to CoolStandings, the Angels as of today are calculated to have a 20% chance to make the playoffs and will finish 9 games behind the Rangers.

In other words they are done.

Oakland will finish 3 back so they will play even with the Rangers the rest of the way.

Of course anything can happen but that's the most likely scenario based on all the data fed into their calculation.

I have a question that hopefully one of you guys can answer. If things continue the way they are, with Oakland as the #1 Wild Card and Baltimore as the #2, the season ends on October 3rd w/ the Wild Card game on October 5th. So, we would go from Tampa to Oakland (and if we won that), back to Baltimore to face Texas on October 7th?

I REALLY hope you guys take it to Oakland in your 7 remaining games against them. Would rather just have the O's host that Wild Card game.

Sounds about right.... WC #1 hosts WC #2. Then the winner of that game hosts ALDS games 1 & 2.
