if this is true this is large indeed ... I bet alot of the owners are screaming at Gary/Bill to get this shit done because their side is winning this deal if they get to 50/50 ... they dont need to crush the players completely (... they can do that the next time the cba expires ) ... i think alot of the owners see this and want to get back to raking revenue

Yeah, I see Gary getting significant pressure from owners to get a deal done as well. Quite different from 04'-05' in that regard.

The sad thing is the owners flat out told the PA that they were willing to move/deal on the make them whole part two weeks ago. PA said it was a non starter. Now we see the owners leading the discussions again. If the PA would try and do something weeks/months ago we could be watching hockey today. I know Fehr is trying to get the best deal, but he has yet to bring forth a complete deal. There have been some ideas but missing many items to justify it as an offer. Still I hope to be watching a banner raised to the rafters before Xmas

I don't know if they want games more than the players, but I think all the Canadian owners definitely want to be playing, and I'm pretty sure there's 5 or 6 American markets that also want to drop the puck. I also agree that Fehr and the NHLPA have prolonged this lockout with some of their tactics and inactivity. Hopefully, the next 7 to 10 days can see a deal get finalized.

I don't know about that. The NHLPA has proposed the EXACT DEAL that many on this board have proposed as being completely fair, and the NHL walked out without reading it.
