Completely agree.

2-3-2 format was for when travel was a little tougher than it is now. That is the only reason that format ever existed. The current format is what would have been adopted had travel been easier back then because like you said "home court advantage" should mean just that.

I actually think 2-3-2 is a greater advantage for the team with home court.

Really hard to win 3 in a row when teams are evenly matched.

Not against Indiana.

They might be the best shooting team in the league and they move the ball as well as anyone.

Zone defense is not how you beat them.

Need to make shots and keep them out of transition. Make them a halfcourt team.

When OKC has done that, and when the Knicks did it…

Guess what?

They win.
Never said it was the answer, but he never tried anything different…

And that’s why he was canned

Took him 10 + PS games to go deeper into his bench

He did try a lot of things different with lineup and rotations.

He just didn’t try playing zone which is entirely against his philosophy.

Yep...has to be tightness. Couldn't have just not played well to start and Indy did.
lmao ok. I know my team, the Thunder were tight, no sense of urgency. You see there’s this thing called a point spread that applies when both teams play their best. But yes playing tight is certainly not playing well.

Lazy comment and hear it so much. Opponent gets out to a strong start had to be tight. Couldn't just be opponent played well.

I guess to be fair sometimes instead of tight some might say "not ready"

Apparently, cane had some kind of meltdown and said to ban him or thread ban him or something. :noidea:
He went off on Oklahoma being a conservative state even though Indiana is as well. F that guy, I won’t be here if it’s going to get political.

No idea why the Thunder would come out so tight in this one

Young team playing in their first finals and it was their first finals closeout game on the other teams home court. As they pointed out last night...this is the 2nd youngest team to ever make the finals...they are learning as they go.

Yep.

Indiana wanted that game more than OKC.

Defensive energy was never there for OKC last night.

If you think that was the Thunder defense last night you haven’t been paying attention. Tight certainly means not playing well though. And yea of course if the Thunder had more experience in these moments the talent discrepancy would not be as sporadic. I just didn’t like how casual they looked.

Still small sample but the numbers are

2-3-2 : 75%
2-2-1-1-1: 71%

Also those numbers should tell you just a little bit about how OKC, even though they looked like crap last night, should still be heavy favorites heading into Sunday night.

You got serious issues man

I’m talkin on the defensive end

We know what he did offensively, and it was too late, you don’t decide to change things up in the PS

You guys were all complained he played his starters too many minutes in reg season

Stop trying to to validate your nonsense with comments already made

You’re weird dude man

LOL.

Whatever you say.

Only one person here talking nonsense.

Thibs identify as a coach is his tough man to man defense.

Good luck trying to hide Brunson and Townes in a zone.

Bad defenders are bad defenders.

meant to add "energy" as well.

All these things possible but sometimes one team plays well and the other doesn't. Also, playing well can make a team more energetic and playing poorly can drain energy.
