Batman: The Brave and the Bold will be the 3rd film of James Gunn's new DC cinematic Universe. Despite having the same title, this film should not be confused with the earlier Batman: The Brave and the Bold cartoon series. This film will introduce Gunn's universe's version of Batman, to be played by a new actor, so this Batman will not be the Affleck or Pattinson versions.

As suggested by the title, it will focus on two characters: Batman and Robin. This Robin will not be Dick Grayson, or Jason Todd, or Tim Drake, or Stephanie Brown, but instead Damian Wayne. Damian is the son of Batman by Talia al Ghul, daughter of Ra's al Ghul, and thus the grandson of Ra's who was raised and trained by the League of Assassins.

Agreed. It’s weird. Ben affleck was already supposed to be the old grizzled up Batman since we did not need a new origin. It’s weird that the total reboot of this universe also will take an older Batman.

That’s fine though. I’m not totally against it. But with old and grizzled, that doesn’t really scream lighter(in tone) and fun.

But I will give Gunn the benefit of doubt.

Has there ever been a lighter n fun Batman? Ì did like them going back to Keaton in the Flash movie n the Clooney cameo was cool.

Any number of Robin's could've provided some lightness n fun. The only who really couldn't would be Damien Wayne.

I hope Bale is coming back because Joseph Gordon Levitt is taken down or out in his series since it ends with a restored bat signal like Blake took over, that is iif he is actually doing his 4th. But she didnt make it in that series, or did she?

Affbat still has not starred in his own movie, I keep hearing that Ben is trying to write it himself, so its never going to happen. If I am sitting down to watch a batman movie, I want a batman movie, never really seen a full affbat film.

I like how the Pattison bat ties in with the HBO penguin series, but they need to step up the villians.

So continue the stories would work for me, instead we get a whole new start.

Whoever or however they decide to roll with. I just hope it's nothing like Patterson's portrayal. I like a bruding Batman as much as the next guy, but Patterson was just depressing.

I thought Pattinson was good...much more on the detective side of things than past portayals.

Bring back Chris O'Donnell, let him be Nightwing.

I agree. The other thing you need to consider is how he got accepted in the movie, first one cop, then more cops, until the end when the people accepted him as he was saving the children. They might completely screw the next one up, but considering how the story goes off to HBO, I think there is alot of places they can build on where you just have to see all the films to get the whole story. They can kill off Gordon and derail it from the start too.

but Robin has never taken over the Batman mantle in the comics...he's always had his (or her) own character and took it in their own direction (Red Robin, Nightwing, Red Hood, etc)

I dont want to get this into a GOT deal where the books were not followed or the dead are coming back to life to birth a son. The reason Batman stays alive is because all these other people are taking the story to places they wanted it to go. The rest of us would have missed out on batman all these years because the story ran out.

Bale bat had an untrained Robin taking over, which was weak and almost to the point of look, I am not doing a fourth movie. I think if Patinsons bat had a robin he would be the social side of the duo with Patinson watching thru the contact lens camera because he is so secluded. There is a story to write from that which ties into the last one of having our catwoman doing it. Thats what makes great movies, you sitting there with the comic book knowledge and thinking it is cool they tried to go this route.
