No, I don’t think that is fair.

There was a very legit chance that the PG trade was going to work out for the Clippers. It clearly didn’t.

But when it was made, there were people on both sides of who was going to win that deal.

The Watson trade (and subsequent contract) I think was pretty clearly bad when it was made.
are you being serious here? PG was already a guy who got hurt a lot while Watson was a guy who had never missed a game due to injury since he was a rookie.

Oh, and Watson was an elite QB in his prime going on the market which didn't happen all that much and why nearly a dozen teams wanted to acquire him. IF Watson played like all those teams expected the Browns would have been happy to pay his contract and likely even more in an extension. No one we gave up in the deal became the MVP of the sport.

Ummmm….

At the time of the trade Watson was mired in scandal and had just sat out the entire previous season.

I remember just about everyone outside Browns fans on here ridiculing the move and the subsequent contract.

That simply was not the case for the PG trade.
