Huff and VR are improvements over Bales and LWJ. Koss is a downgrade. It’s a wash IMO. He may get Cained but it won’t be because of the backups. Main thing is he keeps the mound free of poop.

There are so many bullpen-needy teams right now, if Hicks puts together a few solid relief outings it’s not hard to imagine the Giants getting out from under the rest of his contract.

I'm a bit surprised that the Giants have stuck with Koss so long. He hardly has prospect pedigree - drafted by the Rockies out of college in the 12th round of the 2019 draft, traded to the Red Sox after the 202 season and then had his minor league contract sold to the Giants just prior to the start of the 2024 season. I'm glad he got a shot at the big leagues but am surprised he is getting a longer look over the likes of Wisely and Schmitt (whom I expect will stay in AAA after his rehab is over).
