They don’t flex games out in October. And I think the Niners may be somewhat better than expected if they stay healthy.
HUGE 'IF' with a 17 game season.

Their roster is so old and injury prone. Only way you usually get around that is you just NAIL the draft for a couple years (Rams did this). 49ers basically went entirely defense in the draft, so we'll see.. can Aiyuk/Kittle/McCaffrey stay healthy for the entire year? Eh....

No clue. I'll have to take your word on concerts. Shows were cheaper than in NY. Hotels a lot cheaper. I did look at secondary market tickets for a Vegas hockey playoff game and they were probably less than a third of what I'd pay here. Restaurants and "spending money" were definitely expensive also but that was probably more the choices we made. I was thinking about going back for the Cowboy game instead of going to Dallas this year, but not if the prices stay where you said they are. That's just ridiculous..
I'll start looking again the weekend of the game. Looked at vivid for Raiders tickets and that game was the only one with "Tickets going fast" listed.

I was just about to make a joke about how the Saints probably weren't going to win many of those games either with your QB situation and then I remembered the absolute bitch slapping you gave us last year :pout:
Yes but MVP Carr isn't there any longer.

Agreed that that’s a big if with the Niners, I could definitely see them getting banged up again, but the talent is there for them to be pretty good.
The Cards are a team that intrigues me, I could see them contending for the division title honestly if their D improves. The Rams are obviously the favorites, and I’m afraid your Seahawks will be the weakest team in the division.

Season starts Sept 4th.

Oct 19th will be the 2nd time I will sit down at a noon on a Sunday and watch my Vikings.

Bullshit. Way too many odd start times for my team, And the absolute worst of them all is having to wait until 8PM on Monday on opening weekend for my team to play.
Yep....that's the negative when the league thinks your team might be good.....even worse for the league if you end up not being good.

OTOH, at least being bad means my team plays mostly games at 1pm which I prefer.

Vegas is way cheaper than NY, not sure how that is even a question. You can spend a lot of money in both places, but you have to spend a lot of money in NY, that's the difference.

Looking forward to the Rams in Cleveland preseason game. I should be there.
Interesting.,...never even saw the preseason schedules until this one. Long way to go for preseason, no? don't mean you but in general for a team.

I don't know if all 3 of those guys will stay healthy. As I recall McCaffrey usually misses games every season and sometimes lots of them, Aiyuk and Kittle not quite as many, but Kittle seems to miss a couple and I'm not sure on Aiyuk.

Looking at the schedule, I can see 3 NFC West teams getting to the playoffs if they remain somewhat healthy, mostly because you play the AFC South and NFC South for 8 of the games. Catch them right and be somewhat healthy and you could have 3 teams with more than 11 wins in the West.

Interesting, I definitely don’t see 3 NFC West teams making the playoffs, but who knows at this point. The AFC South does suck, and the NFC South isn’t as strong as the East or North in the NFC, but given how strong the East and North are I kind of doubt any NFC division gets 3 teams in the playoff. I think the Rams are the clear cut favorites in the West, the Seahawks are clearly the weakest team out there, Niners and Cards are interesting, both have the potential to make the playoffs but both have some question marks.
Once again the NFC looks deeper than the AFC on paper, but again who knows how it will play out.

I don't think the NFC North was as strong as their records of last year indicated. They played the AFC South and NFC West last year and as I recall most of the games the Vikes and Pack played against the NFC West were when they were all pretty banged up at key positions. That's why they had those shiny records and dull playoff performances.

Interesting. The Vikings are a team that I’m really curious about this year, with an unknown at QB in McCarthy, but a lot of offensive talent and a solid defense overall, although the secondary is a bit of a question. If JJ is strong at QB, the Vikings could be really good, but you never know what you are getting with a new QB.

I think the Packers will be good once again, they have a good amount of talent on that roster and are solid all around, edge rush looks a bit uncertain but they should be good.

The Lions look like the best team in the division once again, they are loaded, I would’ve liked to have seen them play the Eagles last year, injuries took their toll on the Lions and they ran into a hot Commanders team in the playoffs.

And I think the Bears will be improved and competitive although their draft was a bit puzzling to me.

The Lions have to replace two successful coordinators. That will take some transition time. I agree about their roster.

Bears fans hated everything about their draft...of course they hate everything about the Bears other than Caleb Williams and think Johnson has his fingerprints all over this draft and he F'd it up...but they're Bears fans and they're always complaining...so there's that

Yeah that draft was puzzling, I wasn’t sure why they took a TE first, they have a solid TE in Kmet, and taking Loveland over Warren at TE was bizarre. They didn’t take a RB until round 7, again bizarre, and they didn’t address their edge rush. I was fine with the Burden pick, he’s a stellar receiver who should be good, but they made some puzzling decisions.
The Bears haven’t drafted very well lately, of course the historical blunder of taking Trubisky instead of Mahomes hangs over them and Fields didn’t work out at QB either.

I'm well aware but those are teams who are not likely to be good and will have a hard time cracking seven wins. Yes, I have the Dolphins winning four games ATM. And Saints get them at a time where they are just about eliminated. I do think the Saints can beat the 49ers and one of Giants/Pats before that stretch. But some people seem to forget the offense will be as healthy as the first two weeks the previous year but difference is no Carr.

2018
Rams/49ers flexed for Bengals/Chiefs

2019
Bucs/Raiders flexed for Seahawks/Cardinals

2024 week 9
Jaguars/Eagles flexed for Colts/Vikings. Nice try though.

Also I have to think the Falcons/49ers game was the last SNF game decided on. They start with the top teams or most talked about and work their way down. 49ers don't get the Cowboys treatment for missing the playoffs. They needed another SNF game for SF after the Bears and their options were Falcons, Bucs, Texans. They did not want to give Houston another because of how they played against the top teams. In other words, Atlanta was a dart throw like the Colts were against the Jets(I easily saw the Bengals/Chargers being strategically scheduled as they indeed flexed into that SNF).

The Vikings will go back to missing the playoffs. The NFC North had a ridiculously easy schedule. The home teams were 11-1 against the NFC West and AFC South. Philadelphia, Washington, Cincinnati, and Baltimore blow Arizona, SF, Houston, and Indianapolis out of the water. Think 2023 when their home games were Saints, Bucs, Chiefs, and Chargers. They went 1-3. Carr got hurt though very early on.

That easy schedule also screwed the Packers because Love didn't have to do anything all year and played like crap when it mattered. I lost a fantasy playoff game to a team with him because I started Cooper Rush over Justin Herbert week 16. Love had only 13 points...against the Saints with the Ratt's A@@. The next week my team was the highest scoring in the league.

It came out Warren wasn't a quicker route runner than Loveland. He's being compared to Jeremy Shockey.

Agree. The biggest difference out of everything for me was I had a large room at the Bellagio overlooking the fountains and paid like $400 per night. I couldn’t get that room in NY for under $1,000 per night. And if there were a similar hotel in NYC to the Bellagio with fountains like that, which there couldn’t be because there is no room to fit it, the room would probably have been $3,000 per night minimum. But, mansters only comment was about concert tickets not a comparison of the two cities in general.
