You guys kinda summed it up, but that press conference with Luc made it seem like Blake was just the fall guy, and all decisions were made "as the group", which isn't changing. Robitaille says they felt with exit interviews that they were close to pushing for a cup.

I do think they're are good pieces on the team, but they are soft, and the lack of depth they had been touting all year, was apparently a facade, if they felt this need to condense down to 8 forwards and 4 defense every game.

They got pretty beat up after end of Game 4, regardless of how crushing those endings were. Let's say they won Game 3 or 4, but still play like they did in Games 5&6, they're coming home for Game 7 with all the pressure and they still maybe blow that. Then what's the narrative? The truth is that they got weaker and weaker as the series went on (both in play and mentally weak). I'm not wholely convinced they still pull that series out.

Now we'll also see if maybe Edmonton is just good too. They looked pretty dominant against Vegas as that game went on. It will be hard for you to convince me that the goalie tandem of Pickard and Skinner is a cup-winner, but they keep winning for now.

Thats a huge piece of that playoff shitburger. Edm had zero confidence going into the series, they lost before it begun. Instead of feeding that and burying them the Kings thought the best course of action was what happened.

I liked Avery until he went off the deep end IMO with his antics, some of that was just embarrassing.

My algorithm is all Sean Avery right now. This clips is pretty funny. Biz asking him why he got into Jiu Jitsu and Avery says because Robitaille banned him from 52 arenas in California.

That's friggin gold, Avery doing Avery things in the video clip.

Is that really a thing???? How does Robitaille have the power to ban him in CA? Or, is this a joke?

Kings actually own most of the rinks in SoCal now. One of the 1st ones they bought was Pick Wick. I used to play there in the late 80's. I live in Burbank so I went to visit about a year ago and it's really nice in there now. Rink is much better. I believe the Kings, Ducks and maybe even Sharks got together and bought the failing rinks to help with the grassroots hockey movement in California.

Absolutely right. In fact I have an idea of exactly when the collapse happened. After game 2 Knoblauch said that the Kings aren't beating the Oilers and that it's just "Gaffes" Here's the quote:

"The last two games, [the Oilers have allowed] five on the special teams, so that's a problem," Knoblauch said. "The other one is just mistakes. I don't necessarily see us -- I don't see L.A. making plays to beat us. Mistakes, gift-wrapping opportunities. That's different. If they make a heck of a play and [are] able to score goals, you just tip your hat and say, 'There's not much we're able to do.' But I don't think I've seen very much of that. I think it's been mostly gaffes that have cost us."

That statement was intended to shake his team up. Instead it shook the Kings and they believed him and starting playing scared.
