This doesn't seem like a bad idea since it costs many times more to detain/transfer people, although I don't think it will do much. Per Newsweek:
The U.S. has run a self-deport program before, in 2008, then called Operation Self Departure. It sought to incentivize 457,000 illegal immigrants from five cities to leave the country, but only eight people took part.

Trump deported 1.5 million in his first 4 years, lower than Obama's 3.2 million over 8 years. Really what we need is action from Congress to overhaul the system and keep illegal aliens out while being humane and helping people fleeing war/abuse/drug lords. I feel like the latter gets lost in all this. If we built a better system domestically and helped these countries in our foreign policy we might improve the situation. But we are backwards on both right now.

What a bunch of bs, people didn't forget about the importance of vaccination, there has been a targeted effort to downplay their significance and stress the importance of personal choice trumping everything else. Don't even talk to me about the health care system being overloaded and long wait times when you're taking up hospital beds and health care resources which could have been easily prevented with being vaccinated.
