My mother adopted a cat from a rescue about 6 weeks ago. Apparently it was in a shelter for 7 years. Not sure why, it's a really nice and friendly cat.

It’s because a sucker like me never came along and saw them. I can’t cotton seeing animals sitting there all alone looking at me like they want to come home with me.

Please thank her for me and all the other rescue cat parents out there. For anyone out there looking for a pet, consider a rescue, particularly an older one. They will appreciate your love forever and return it a hundred fold.

Of course, will do! Her previous pet was a dog she got at a Senior Dog Sanctuary. They do a lot of good work taking care of older dogs and finding them homes. He was a nice dog and had a good 6 years with her. He passed away in December and she was going to go back there to look again, but then saw the cat at a shelter and got him. He's really nice, greets her at the door and follows her around.
