2005 USC Trojans...only loss was to Texas in an epic NC game when Vince Young turned into Superman.

Fuck the NCAA's "vacated wins" stupidity. We all saw what we saw.
Can't believe it took this long for an '05 USC mention. I'd go with them or '71 OU.

16 Bama was a great team, they were better than the Clemson team that beat them, Clemson just made a wild comeback in the second half of the title game. 23 Georgia was awesome as well, I think they would’ve had a good shot at beating Michigan in the playoff.
Bama was better than Clemson, but the only reason they did not win was Clemson scored more points. If only the game had ended at halftime, but they were forced to play 60 minutes, so unfair.

sorry, don't think you can compare different eras. too much has changed. the players physically are lightyears advanced today. the '69 Buckeyes, while a great team, would lose to '23 Ga.

You can't but one has to compare how dominant they were during their time. Years ago, I'm talking nearly 20 years ago, my son's small single A football team's offensive line outweighed the Steelers offensive line from the '70s.
