Wanted a RB. But damn they killed it with this day 2 haul. This is a rebuild and they added 3 critical pieces so far. I really think the BC edge is going to be a force. Ravel can play.. was hoping they would draft Ravel
We had so many holes. Atleast they have not reached and actually filled needs with good players. I see another year of running back by committee. They think improve Oline fix the problem. We will see. I don't like going this route. You need both.

one two three down
This reminds me of the way that Jimmy used to draft. A lot more sizzle back then because we had higher picks and I’m not comparing any of these guys to those players other than it was all around football players. Nothing wrong with taking BPA and letting the Board come to you and getting guys that will fill holes and Boys we have a lot of holes. We need a RB in a bad way but maybe just maybe Will has a late round gem in his back pocket or we make a trade with someone. This is not a fireworks at 4th of July draft more like the crew that sets up the fireworks in the daytime for the big show.
Looking forward to seeing who we get the rest of the way and especially who we get as UDFA’s where Dallas does shine signings those guys.

Go Cowboys!

I think Schotty is having a great influence on the draft. Instead of reaching like the last couple of years with Mazi and Guyton, he has specific types of players he wants, high character, good football players. They didn't panic and take Golden when Tet came off the board like they did a couple of years ago when they took Schoony after missing on LaPorta. We have had an excellent draft this year by taking guys that deserved to be taken with that pick. If they keep this philosophy up the rest of this draft and the next couple of years as well, and fill needs in FA, we will get back to being a contender

Totally agree. It's all Schotty and McClay. it's a calm, intelligent, trust your board and months of analysis draft. You can see every pick Stephen and Jerry reaching for the trade card as if that is their only contribution to the draft other than blessing the pick. You can just tell how much McClay likes working with Schotty. I'd imagine McCArthy was the complete opposite and a sloppy, all over the place unable to focus and make up his mind guy like the Jones Boyz. McClay and Schotty are just trusting the board and making the picks. If you do your homework, you can just go onto auto-draft and that is what they are doing. Needs are needs, but great players win football games. Let Stephen and Jerry go make their phone calls and show their value, but at the end of the day the two making the decisions this weekend are very obvious.

The best thing I can say about Schotty (and his whole staff) is that it looks like this team finally has a vision and a focus on football. You hired the man over the other choices, now give him a minimum of two years and stay out of his way.

Im really impressed with Schotty. And i think having that balance with the HC has helper embolden him against Jones stupidity. You could literally see Will arguing with Jerry and Stephen. I think having a coach with the same vision evens the slate. I would imagine that in the same situation, as a lame duck, Coach Max would just say...whatever Jerry thinks

NO. 44 DALLAS COWBOYS: EDGE DONOVAN EZEIRUAKU, BOSTON COLLEGE (BIG BOARD RANK: 17)

Although Ezeiruaku may lack the size and power of some other edge defenders in the class, his length and capability as a quick, smooth-moving pass rusher earned him a top-20 rank on PFF's big board as EDGE3. His 196 snaps versus true pass sets last season are the most in the class, and he earned a 90.7 PFF pass-rush grade with a 25.8% pass-rush win rate on those plays.

The positives continue for Ezeiruaku as a run defender, where he profiles as a savvy addition to boost a struggling Cowboys front. Dallas surrendered the most expected points added per rush in 2024. Ezeiruaku's 83.6 PFF run-defense grade placed him in the 91st percentile at the position this past season.

Best thing Jerry has done the last few years is keep Will McClay in Dallas. Given free rein I think the guy could be on Ozzie Newsome level for putting together a team.

It will be interesting to see what they do today. I'm not even sure which they prioritize between RB and WR. It still seems to me like WR was the goal. They talked about it with McMillan being their guy (well not by name but we all know who) at 12 and the alluded to WR being the original target at 44 when they said they were surprised they went defense at 44.

That, and I think Schotty has a much clearer vision of what he wants to build here, which helps McClay get him the types of players he wants. I think the fact that Mac started out as a backseat driver in Kellen Moores scheme meant we never really had a clear direction. Schotty wants to have a physical offense that wins up front, runs the football, and has that ball control style play into Eberflus defense, which has pass rushers off the edge, attacks with the front four, and keeps the safeties back and makes you beat them all the way down the field instead of with one big play. He got a power guard that's a great fit, a great pass rusher, and a strong coverage corner. Great start

I know one thing, when the pick we traded for Mingo comes up, we are all gonna be really pissed thinking about the RB's sitting there on the board

Pisses me off we don't have that 4th rounder to draft one of those in group 1. I. Like Tuten and Sampson

RBs are so deep. There's a kid I like that may go in the 6th that doesn't get much shine. Montrell Johnson from Florida. Pair him with Williams and we will get along just fine too.

Forgot to list the Rutgers kid

Just saw this. Flashed back to hearing how Dallas didn't see him as a fit even though I was really high on him
