Peter Schrager (the most accurate mock drafter the last 2 years) has the Broncos taking Egbuka at pick 20.

I feel like all is calm on Egbuka with rumors about Golden that if Hampton or Henderson isn’t our guy it will be Egbuka.

He makes a ton of sense. I really do think Payton would love him. The effort he brings in both the run and the pass, not afraid to go over the middle, and will be a great addition to the locker room. I was reading the other day about some of the players that had the best offseason and Egbuka's name was on the list. Said every team universally loved the guy and view him as someone that could get voted as a 10-year captain for a roster.

This is a first round receiver I could get behind. The Broncos have targeted character recently and this kid has it in spades! His skill set is so versatile as well. He doesn't have the extreme measurables but neither did Jefferson.

He isn't Jefferson for sure but only a couple in the league could make such a claim. I wish Egbuka was a little better at the jump ball type plays. He does have a couple of concentration drops where they are trying to set up blocking for him and he is looking too far ahead leading to an easy drop, but otherwise yes every part of his game you would grade at worst as solid. He is a good athlete not great. I would say football wise his best quality is his route running. Does a great job getting separation and it is why when it was 3rd and 5 or less OSU leaned into targets going his way. That is something we are missing on this offense.

Jefferson wasn't Jefferson in the draft either or he wouldn't have gone 22nd and been the fifth receiver taken. Broncos and others whiffed on that. As an LSU fan I was miffed as Jefferson was so good. I think the overall talent around Jefferson at LSU that year, arguably most talented college team ever, downgraded his unreal production that year (111 Catches, 1540 yards and 18 TD).

Not saying Egbuka will be Jefferson as their skill sets are different, but just pointing out how weird and inaccurate the draft process can be.

Oh for sure. And Egbuka has been haunted by a similar issue in having ridiculous talent around him making some of the eval a little tougher. Marvin Harrison Jr. being there for the first part of his career and Jeremiah Smith being there this past season made it impossible for him to get that chance to shine as the true #1 WR. 98% of all teams in college football he would have been their #1 WR. He just happened to have 2 of the best WR prospects of the past 15 years playing next to him. Throw in OSU leaned pretty heavily into the run game this past season with 2 guys expected to be gone in the first 2 rounds of the draft. Just a loaded team.

I think my biggest thing that I love about Egbuka beyond the character side of things is he really is willing to do all the dirty work for a team. Smith got the highlight plays down the field but Egbuka did all the work underneath to keep teams honest from always just playing a Cover-2 or Cover 4 shell. I look at Franklin and Mims and even Sutton. They have the ability to win over the top, but they can struggle with the short area stuff. Egbuka really fits well to what we are missing especially now with Engram in the building. Would love to see some bunch formations with Egbuka and Engram next to each other. Have one go out and the other in and watch how teams scramble to figure out how to stop that.

I'm kinda surprised no pre draft trade up hasn't happened yet.

From PFT

A consensus is building that the Broncos will draft North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton with the 20th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Hampton is the Broncos’ pick in PFT’s mock draft and is the favorite to go to the Broncos at sports books.

The Broncos are -110 favorites to draft Hampton at FanDuel, while various bets at other sports books have running back as the most likely position for the Broncos to take in the first round, and Hampton likely the second running back off the board, following Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty, who is widely expected to go in the Top 10.

Hampton was a two-time All-American who had remarkably consistent production over the last two seasons. In 2023 he had 253 carries for 1,504 yards, a 5.9-yard average per carry and 15 touchdowns. In 2024 he had 281 carries for 1,660 yards, a 5.9-yard average per carry and 15 touchdowns.

At a time when NFL teams are starting to see more value in the running back position, Hampton will almost certainly hear his name called tonight. It’s hard to see him getting past No. 20.

Right now I'm good with a handful of players being the pick.

Hampton, Egbuka, Henderson, Nolen, Grant, and Harmon all would be really nice picks.

I know there is some push for Loveland but his injury has me worried. Last time we took a Michigan TE coming off serious injury it didn't end too well for us.

I jut really want Omarion Hampton and the only thing that will make it better if we miss out will be Henderson.

But I will probably be happy with others just a letdown. ;)

Probably too good to be true that

2 years ago we drafted my favorite player in the draft Marvin Mims
Last year we drafted my tied for second favorite player in the draft Troy Franklin
Few years ago before that we drafted my second favorite player in the draft in Patrick Surtain
Omarion Hampton and Ollie Gordon being my favorite personal favorite players in this years draft with Henderson not far behind.

Either we got something going good for me or the trend is too good to be true.

Give me one pick that if we came away with them (trade up, trade down or stay where we are) you would be happy with that you think many others wouldn't be? Doesn't mean you are happy if we trade up or trade down or stay the same. Just means it doesn't have to be a pick that the value is at 20 because if we get them it means we either went up or down for them if that makes sense.

Mine would be Missouri WR Luther Burden (In a trade down).

Like him more then most people right now.
