I thought him falling to us was a reach.

Top 2 QBs don't typically slide to 6 if they're even moderately good prospects. Someone will trade up to get one or both of them if the teams in position aren't sold.

If the Raiders are indeed sold on him, I doubt they stand pat and wait for him to fall. At that point (post FA), their options will be thin if they don't land him.

Isn't the NHL doing it to avoid sending their players to the Olympics during the season? It looks good today, but every four years it's a bigger issue for the Olympics.
Sure, but his would give SIlver his tournament aspect of All-Star and the US vs the world aspect. (Plus it was just a joke, really).

Maybe not hyped, but projected too high because he's a QB? Maybe the teams near the top don't perceive him to be that level of prospect to build your team around. He is QB2 in most rankings, and there is strength at other positions that can force him later in the draft projections.
No doubt QBs can be overdrafted by teams in need.......but to be fair real FOs don't really care about draft rankings.

"Overdrafted" or "Underdrafted" is only based on the rankings the "experts" and media guys put out. I mean the big boards are somewhat realistic based on player name, combine, pro day and overall talent but very different from any FO. Mainly bc of positional need.

For example if a teams' #1 need is a QB they could possibly have 3 or 4 QB's in their top 10 even if there are only 2 "projected" to go in the top 10 according to the "experts".

At the end of the day it really means nothing bc most don't have a clue how a prospect will eventually turn out bc of key factors like mental state, work ethic and growth along with others factors like coaching, player development and team fit. I mean a kid could have a ton of talent and the coaching staff has no clue how to use him to the best ability or fit.

All that being said, the nfl draft is entertainment. Most exciting draft out of all the sports for a reason and the hype is real. That's what makes it fun and entertaining though.

Nailed it......always cracks me up when someone calls a pick a reach and it's because guys who GUESS where players will be taken had them going later. Maybe, just maybe the mocker was wrong?

And, sure, none of this means a FO wont miss badly on a player as we know they do.

I'd bet if we could see all teams' draft boards they would look wildly different.

Eh.

Either figure out how to stop it, or hold them short enough of the line to gain that they can’t run it.
Or better yet, just learn to do it yourself
I hate the whole idea of the league outlawing a specific play because it is too effective.
Agreed

I know how to stop it. Someone needs to come across the line early enough to hit Hurts at knee level sideways, end of tush push.

Nah man.

Stop it within the rules of a game.

Trying to end somebody’s career is just a terrible suggestion.

I think that is what the Packers want to do.

Never thought thunder would go to that level
lol I was basically saying that the only way to stop it is really not within the rules of the game. I would not advocate hurting anyone. It doesn’t bother me so much, I don’t know why they subject Hurts to that though. I have to think they have less important players that could do his part of it.

I’m a packers fan now

The Eagles will still be a great QB sneak team.

I’ll gladly accept the rule as long as the transcripts get leaked. I want them to put together a 20 minute presentation that essentially says “The Eagles are just too good for it because they have a 90%+ success rate while everyone else floats around 50%”.

I will definitely flex on a league going Wilt Chamberlain on my Eagles and say “we’re banning something because you’re too fucking good and we don’t think it’s fair that you’re too fucking good.”
