Is the LA market really that bad media wise? Guess I always thought of them as soft. Cause they had a radio host who was a former Trojan made a semi negative comment about Pete Carroll and he basically got expelled from coming around SC until Carroll was gone.Bro really said he was open to mid markets because of media circuses and then picks LA, lulz.
LA is certainly a “big” market, but it’s hardly a baseball market. LA is a Lakers town primarily and the fans are very casual/distant. People certainly aren’t sports-obsessed the same way they might be in Philly, New York or Boston, for example. I would guess Sasaki can just walk down the streets of LA without even being recognized. He would be swarmed in a town like New York.Bro really said he was open to mid markets because of media circuses and then picks LA, lulz.
This is why baseball sucks right now. And this is possibly one of the reasons why teams like the Mariners aren’t going to invest in big-time players. They just know that they’re probably not going to go to/win the World Series anyways with the likes of the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers,, Etc. spending the money like they do… if this trend continues, the Mariners will never go to the World SeriesIn 10 years a team will field the absolute best player at their perspective position, hitting, or defense, 5 aces rotation and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do about it. This is what the MLB is becoming.
Ever played a video game where you pick the best of the best? That’s gonna happen in real life for the MLB.
I have hated the Yankees and the Dodgers since 1975-76. I see no need for me to change now...lol.I've never hated or even disliked the Dodgers. I grew up a LaSorda fan and the Dodgers have played some amazing baseball ever since I've been a baseball fan starting in the early 80s. Plus, I'm not a Yanks or Red Sox fan, and it's nice having another club able to perennially contend with them when they have successful years.
I'm going to be following them with my MLBtv subscription this year along with the Guardians and the Orioles.
lol, i understand.I have hated the Yankees and the Dodgers since 1975-76. I see no need for me to change now...lol.
I am with you on Orioles and Guardians.
Totally agree, but I don't see it happening in my lifetime...or my grandson's lifetimes. In every other sport you feel like you're team at least has a chance ever offaeason
In the MLB that's just not the case
Baseball can change whatever rules they want to to "appeal to the fans" but until you institute a salary cap ( or at least an addition tax like the NBA uses ) people just aren't going to care
Its fun to go watch the Globetrotters once. No one wants to see them play the a Generals 162 times
To be fair in the video games you can’t build the team the Dodgers had because of the “budget”.In 10 years a team will field the absolute best player at their perspective position, hitting, or defense, 5 aces rotation and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do about it. This is what the MLB is becoming.
